Intellectual/sporty. I reserve "best friend" for my actual best friends, who I don't date.

None. I like scruffy, competitive, violent and highly intelligent women. I've taken the "best friend" and the "everygirl" for a partner before, and all it's taught me is how incompatible I am with their ilk. My last relationship ended just a few months ago. I won't make the mistake of trying to make do with 'other traits' again- and hopefully, this means I won't waste another couple of years (of mine, or anyone elses).

Easily the best friend. Although honestly, "Anybody who'll date me" would probably also have been a fair choice.

Best friend, leaning a bit towards Intellectual.

Also, I would've included a male half of the poll, there's quite alot of female members here.

i am the intellectual type (and i'm beyond boring), but i always go for (and fail with) every-girl types. so i turn to your missing demographic: the bat-crap crazy girls. you know the ones who seem normal and nice and then they snap and chase after you with a meat cleaver. but that only happened to me once...mostly, the girls i date just start drama or cry on my shoulder all the time.

Damn. Intellectual girl is pretty popular!
I want to ask, then, is this more of a Male Gamer thing? Or is the attraction to the Intellectual Girl something you'd think Most Guys would share?

Best friend/Intellectual. They like beer, sports, video games and you can have interesting conversations with them, plus they might introduce you to some great books. Still looking for the right one though.

Number one comment to make is damn! I didn't know women came in such easy and amazing packaging. That would be awesome. I would love to try out a ditz for awhile before she became all jaded and bitter about all the dudes trying to nail her 24/7, but really, the everygirl just sounds so generally vapid and useless that I might have to try that out too.
I don't know about the intellectual, is it all just talk and documenteries about termite glands or does she leave the house to do things? I'm not big on chess and most movies aren't exactly intellectual so that would kind of cut out on the entertainment.
Fuck that sports chick idea though, Andrew W.K all night while she reverse cowboy rides me till I cry. I'm healthy and all, but this girl sounds a little spastic.
I'd have to go with a grown-up woman, but you didn't put one on the list so I guess I'll just be glad I'm married to one.

I normally like the cute, kinda insecure best friend. Fun is a huge factor in a relationship for me. If I can't have fun with you, I can't be friends with you or date you.

Best friend, easiest to open up to and we can still be friends if we break up.

Intellectual is a close second, though. My friend is dating an "intellectual ditz", and she's really cool.
