Well, I suppose i'm just a normal trainer. I usually catch a few Pokémon and just train around 10 to rather high levels and keep a low level Pokémon in me pack so that I can attack ones I want without killing them.

I've never bothered catching every Pokémon in the game...

Which type of trainer is the one that teaches all of his pokemon "explosion" to use whenever his pokemon are at low health?

Or the kind that uses the MissingNo. glitch to get a level 15 blastoise to use in Pokemon Stadium?
I believe that's the 'total bastard' trainer type.

As for me, Super nerd! Well, Super nerd who has to consult serebii on a regular basis. But it's still the closest description. I know a fair bit about movesets, evolutions, and pokémon specific strategies though.
Current pokédex count - 358/493

I love Explosion haha.

I'm personally a Bug-Catcher. I love catching stronger Pokemon and raising them to their full potential, and then ditching them for even stronger ones.

Super Nerd. I invest a lot of time into the pokemon on my team and try to make sure I have a diverse set of types and moves. I'll also go to the trouble of evolving all my pokemon, even the ones I don't use.

Exactly! I need to cover all the bases. My HeartGold team is Snorlax, Dragonite, Lugia, Vaporeon, Jolteon, and Typhlosion.

Some sort of category should be added for the meta-gamers, those who know how to utilize EVs and IVs and focus on battling other people (or just really, really like Shoddy Battle).
That would be the Ace Trainers [http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Ace_Trainer] like me. We're young adults who have traveled the world to defeat gym leaders and challenge the Pokemon Leagues while gathering a balanced team of powerful pokemon and training them into fully evolved and optimized battling machines. We work hard to gather advanced knowledge of battle tactics and type weaknesses to exploit every potential advantage to its fullest. We also put way more thought and effort into the pokemon games than anyone ever should. It's almost admirable in a sad sort of way.

I think I'm supernerd, my team is put together with few weaknesses, bread and trained for EV's, IV's and Natures, but I always have to check stuff out, moves leanred, moves bread, I've not got that good a memory.

You sir, just gave a most admirable and eloquent speech. If I were a member of staff I might have been tempted to give you a badge however since I am not all I can do is include your trainer type into the poll.

I never really played Pokemon that much. But, whenever I did, I was just a normal trainer. I caught them, I trained them, they fought for me, I took them to the clinic whenever they were injured. Just simple stuff. Granted, I would always pick the best Pokemon for any given situation.

Breeder; You own roughly 2 boxes full of Ditto with IV's of 31 and corresponding natures. You cycle back and forth across that one bloody road for hours at a time praying that the next egg that hatches will finally contain that perfect-stat female with the right nature and egg moves. For every 1 pokemon you own, you've released a thousand.
Magmar is always first in your party, even though he's never seen a single fight.

I exaggerate (a little) but this takes up a lot of my pokemon playtime, apart from EV training and XP/BP farming.

From the options offered, Super nerd comes closest. I don't know the entire game by heart, but I have a pretty decent understanding of the more in-depth mechanics and a large group of pokemans.

EDIT; Also, we type slowly and vote prematurely to completely miss the addition of the Ace trainer

From that I would judge you to be a bug catcher. Read the description and you'll understand why.

i picked super nerd but after I voted ace trainer came up so I would pick him. (just saying I always use dusknoir with ice/fire/thunder/shadow punch with a bit of training in the HP area he will take forever to take down and he can deal good damage and has a super effective attack for most types and a neutral one for every other type.
