Bulbasaur, primarily because my brother picked Bulbasaur. On reflection, he was right. Bulbasaur is more awesome in just about every way.

Silver was the first one I actually owned so I guess it'd be the totodile that I picked up, by the time I had an army of lv.100s I pretty much stuck with an overpowered umbreon and something equipped with exp. share though.

Man that was nostalgic.

Squirtle. Mostly because my younger brother said something about taking Charmander, and I figured a cheap win would come about if I picked water. I was right.

Hmm... It was either Charmander or Pikachu, can't recall really, as I got both Yellow and Red at the same time.

I've always liked the first generation pokemon games, they were so great! (2nd generation games were pretty good aswell, with 16 gyms and all.)

Started with pokemon Yellow, so Pikachu. I somehow beat Onix with it if I recall correctly.

I started with Pokemon Blue, and I chose Squirtle. I knew water was the best choice in the long run, and I liked Blastoise. Misty was really hard to beat, unless I used the Mega Punch TM. I ran through the game with all three starters but my favorite to use was always squirtle.

My first pokemon? Zubat, akshully. We only had one pokemon game for a while, and it was my sister's. Zubat was the first one I caught for myself, 'cause she didn't like them.

Perhaps that's why I like crobat so much...

Same. I think pokemon was one of my first games, so I wanted it to be really easy. Bulbasaur was the best start up pokemon because you could use vine whip against the first boss.

Plus, I dunno, the others were maybe cuter - but bulbasaur is just more awesome :)

I think it was Charmander. At least I have some distant memories of getting pwned by Brock every time I attempted to fight his Rock-type Pokémon, and you don't have that with Squirtle or Bulbasaur...

Incidentally, my first Pokémon game was Red, and it was fully translated into Spanish. Playing an RPG in a language you only know a few keywords of (Si, No, Gracias, nowadays I know a bit more but still not enough) is not a great way to learn anything, but last time I checked out Red (years ago, only checking it after even more years of not playing it) the character actually was in that one scary town (Lavender Town?), so somehow I must have gotten through the first two gyms despite having not the slightest clue what all the characters are saying...
