I require good, exclusive titles before I purchase a console. If they have a bunch of awesome games like they did for the GC, 64, and (S)NES, then I will probably get it. If they have the same type of titles that they had on the Wii... I will probably cry from lack of hope.

Pain simulation. Because I'm HARDCORE!

Seriously, though: somewhat like it was stated in Zero Punctuation, motion control is only decent when it actually replicates my movements, rather than use them as a glorified button press. So either that, or a return to controllers.

They get rid of the damn motion controls, that's part of my main problem with Nintendo. That and release titles, but mainly the controls.

A few things:

- De-emphasize motion controls. I don't mind it as an option, but not as the only option.
- Games. Lots of awesome first party titles. This is probably the biggest one, though. My main motivation to buy a console is exclusive titles. If a console has a lot of games I'm interested in, I'll buy that console. That's why I own a PS3, and it's why I don't own a 360. I'd consider a Wii, but the previous point certainly bothered me, and the amount of games I was interested in didn't justify the price. Oh yeah:
- Price it reasonably.

I don't care how powerful it is, as long as it can output 1080p.

Good release titles and an alternative to the awful motion control scheme. If it has Super Smash Bros and a good controller, it's a day 1 purchase for me. If not... I can wait for the 3rd iteration of the Xbox.

I'll probably pick it up, regardless of what it ends up being. Nintendo consoles are almost universally good (With the exception of Virtual Boy, and arguably Gamecube, to an extent).

But innovation would be a key selling point. Nintendo's always good for experimentation and innovation in their consoles and handhelds, so I think it's likely that the new system will have some kind of new feature.

I think we can safely say that it WILL have motion controls, considering that the xbox and ps3 both have those now and Nintendo has established itself in this market. But will the console have the same dependency on motion controls as the Wii? That remains to be seen. I'm not personally interested in a new console at the moment, they're going to have to do something pretty remarkable to get me to buy it.

Good games, HD and no regional lockout.

Oh, and maybe it could grant me the ability to fly, too. Or give me LASER EYES.

With the Wii's successor recently announced for late 2012, which features are you interested in and which features would put you off of the console.

Personally I hope it is all about the games this generation and they bring back the side-scrolling game style they have been hinting at with the new Kirby and DK titles.
I would be interested in the wii's successor only if it had no motion control capabilities at all, and was backwards compatible with my xbox 360 games, and my nintendo 64 games. Oh, and it's selling for like, $300 or less. That's pretty much it.

As long as Nintendo keeps making great quality first party titles I will always own their current gen system.

I'll need three good launch titles. A Zelda, F-Zero and Metroid personally. I'm not fussed if they want to keep motion controls as long as every game is also controller capable. Hell I don't care if it's just a wireless GameCube controller! DO IT!
