Goodness.....this is just silly. I'll leave it to the fallout wiki. The next Fallout will take place in the Mojave Wasteland anyway.

What? No! I loved the Mojave (more so than DC anyway) but that would suck! From the discussion of this thread, the results I gleaned were specifically:
1. Massachusetts (the commonwaelth)
2. Britain
3. America on the day/month the bombs fell.

Would anyone else like to play as a ghoul, but during the transformation. Like the ghoul in 3 that ran the shop in underworld.
That could make for a pretty interesting game...

I want Fallout somewhere new and interesting in the US like Honolulu or New York.
New York would be interesting.

Although OP, I think before the war and Europe would be the same. Thats where things were happening before the war, Europe and the Middle-East were beating the shite out of each other and eventually caused each other to collapse and then some time after came the America-China war. Like I said to the above guy New York would be interesting but I would also like to see my homeland, Britain, in a Fallout Game. Their civilization had collapsed long before America so they would have progressed further and be coping better, OR you could throw that logic out of the window and have crazy bastards who think they are Sherlock Holmes running around slapping everyone who he thinks is a criminal and shouting "ELEMENTARY!" before being mauled by the Hound of the Baskervilles... of course you wouldnt see that, you would just see him running around New London like a nutter and later on find his mauled corpse and take his hat, pipe and jacket! Then you get a mission to find out what happened to Sherlock where you must use your powers of deduction to discover what happened... culminating in you finding a giant, mutated dog with bleeding eyes and having to beat that motha down! And that would just be one side quest!

Also, you could have Jack the Ripper murdering ladies of the night and being generally unpleasant. All kinds fo things, Britain has a very rich history and stuff.

EDIT: And as it is Britain, I guess you could probably get away with a kind of steampunk setting.

A big city would be nice, once I saw the wasteland in the 3rd I knew what New Vegas's desert would be like. I'm also interested in what's going on in the rest of the world. The whole Enclave/Brotherhood thing got old, the NCR/Legion conflict was a nice change of pace but it started to wear thin after a while.

BTW I like SimuLord's idea, the commonwealth intrigued me when I heard about androids in the 3rd game.

I could go for a Chinese Fallout. They were the opposing force in the war after all. Plus it'd mean seeing a bombed out Tiananmen square.

Nobody has said a place further up the coast from the commonwealth, like say what remains of Maine. The City of Bath is one of the major producers of warships, maybe BIW (the company that makes the ships) went unharmed. Or maybe the nuclear winter is still so harsh that through the centuries after the war the Acadians have evolved into snow people adapted to survive by an L.L. Bean code or something IDK all sort of stupid funny ideas.

I would want New York. I am from New York so that would be great fun. The L train might actually have a reason for being delayed with ghouls running around all over the subway system. I am hoping SOMEONE here gets that.

I'd like a mountanious region like colorado. But really what fallout needs is a whole new game. A reinvention of what already exists. They make every elder scrolls better maybe they should invest more time in these games.
I love bethesda it's by far my favorite game maker company.

Hopefully a new studio and company entirely is next for FO, rarely have i seen a great IP like FO destroyed at its most fundamental like what Bethesda have done to FO. The basic idea of moving from overhead 2d to third person 3d is the natural way for the format but on pretty much everything else from humor to bugs they have failed miserably.

Europe. For god's sake, haven't we been in the US enough?! Why can't it be anywhere obscure, like Denmark or Toscana or something?!

You guys are all missing the point. You don't understand. You weren't there at the beginning. Fallout is about one place. It has only ever been about one place. It is the STORY of that ONE PLACE. And that place is California and the areas around it. Every time they start to stray from California, the games suck. (The exception being Fallout 3, which gets a pass)

Fallout 2 is to this day still the greatest game ever made, if for no other reason then these three words. Lesbian Shotgun Wedding. At that point, fallout 2 won video game design for all time. Both 1 and 2 had something special going for them. A wicked sense of humor combined with very self-aware satire.

For the first time in 13 years, fallout is back in the hands of its creators. Feargus Urquhart, and Chris Avellone. Tim Cain is unfortunately doing his own thing, but Black Isle studios was, hands down, the best development team ever. And most of them are at obsidian. Now Bethesda I will give credit to for resurrecting fallout. And they were then smart enough to hand it off to its parents. Bethesda/Obsidian have a LOT of potential. More so even than squeenix. To those of you suggesting that Fallout should die with dignity... you first.

There have been 4 fallout games that matter. 1, 2, 3 and vegas. The rest never happened. Now the only piece missing is Tim Cain's warped sense of humor. But there are a lot of people with warped senses of humor.

So, tl;dr

Keep fallout in California where it freaking belongs. If you MUST switch location, do like vegas did and keep it close, and LET US GO BACK THERE. Klamath has gotten huge since fallout 1. I wanna see the new metropolis.
I wanna see New Arroyo dude, that would be awesome. Completely agree with you.

OT: If we're going to put the new Fallout game outside the US, we might as well put Rainbow Six: Vegas 3 in Moscow. Makes as much sense.

Fallout: London, with as much focus on huge, detailed worlds with tons, and I mean TONS of discoverable/explorable places like in Fallout 3, and then let it die.
I could care less about the story, to be frank.
It was alright in Fallout 3, but I was mainly playing it to explore and find every little secret and side quest in the game.
That was the beauty of it.

I could care less about New Vegas and it's story, which I still haven't finished because frankly I don't want to side with any of them.
NCR are totally shit at peacekeeping, I could do a better job alone. Caeser's Legion are evil, and I can wipe them out any day.
New Vegas I couldn't give a shit about, it's a bizzarre place wasting a ton of resources invalueable for survival on partying and gambling.
I'd much rather go hunting Yao Guai, but they don't exist in the desert...

Not sure if anyone's said this yet but I'd really like to see the next Fallout in Louisiana, specifically around New Orleans.

Just imagine decapitating Super Mutants with a Missile Launcher to the tune of "When the Saints go Marching in."

I'd like to see it in a coastal city where there was a big fleet of ships. I think it would be awesome to look out in the ocean and see a giant naval graveyard. I want to explore an aircraft carrier. Maybe even throw in a cruise liner.

I like the water.
