The only weapons i've mastered are Small Guns and Energy weapons, where I can find the Terrible Shotgun? I might have found/sold it, but I want to make sure.
Have you tried to just spray 'n pray (to what extent you're able to, anyway) with A3-21's Plasma Rifle whenever you face a Radscorpion? All you need is a quick trigger finger and and somewhat good hip-fire aim and the weapon will do the rest, at least with your Energy Weapons skill.
OT: I've only got the vanilla version, so I doubt they are the deadliest creatures if you take DLC into account, but those Giant Radscorpions are the main reason I always keep an eye on the radar while spinning around like a lunatic whenever I traverse the Capital Wasteland.
Creepy buggers, that's all I'll say.
Where are the Trackers from Point Lookout? Damn things move as fast as a death claw, but have twice as much health and are almost unaffected by the dart gun.
Also where the hell are the Supermutant Overlords!? 3 of 'em with Gatterling Lazers turned Dogmeat and Charon into swiss cheese. Then Fawks brought down one of them, but then got shredded aswell, and finaly my MIRV didn't wipe the other 2 out so I ended up dying.
To be honest the only things here that I've had a problem with are reavers and deathclaws, and deathclaws I had sorted after I found dart gun schematics and risked my ass getting the pieces, and the tunnel fight against reavers was long, and much harder than a lot of people had it because I was proving to my friend that I was actually pretty good, even without power armour but the reavers could take 5 rocket launcher blasts and only have a crippled leg.
Albino radscorpions I never really saw until the late level 20's at which point they're more of a very strong, resilient pest, as opposed to weak, one hit kill bloodbags, but it doesn't change that they were only a pest.
Yao Guai, I always kind of liked, in their weird, irradiated, scary way, but I'm sure that was very different for people who didn't get the Animal Friend perk.
Mole rats were a pest early on, but Animal Friend turned them into things to walk around afterwards.
Brahmin though, always took ages, and they managed to dodge far too many bullets and plasma bursts.
The strongest Brahmin I ever came across was one night, when I saw Crazy Wolfgang consorting with raiders, now I couldn't have that going on, so I killed them all and chased his pack brahmin after looting the corpses.
The damned thing took all but 5 of my 40-ish rockets, at 50 big guns, (At least 75 percent of which hit, and most of the rest came close) with a well maintained rocket launcher and still had half of it's health left, so I set a huge bunch of minesthat I never use for it after I chased it from a rock it was running against which took off a sizeable chunk of health, after this I was really angry at it so what does any crazed wastelander do when something won't die?
Mini-Nuked it.
It still took a few grenades to kill it as the sun came up.
To this day, I have no idea what happened to it to make it so strong, but all it did was try to run away.
EDIT: Oh, I forgot to say, say hi to the ground for me, after you get a faceful of tri-beam laser rifle after you get pounced just outside underworld.

As many people have already said, the albino radscorpions. They seem to have NO weak point at all - even Deathclaws you can take down with several Shotgun (of the Terrible variety, mind you) blasts to the head; Albinos, on the other hand, take forever to bring down and there are often several of them at one time.

mmhm hello ?
mutant behemoth anyone?
try killing it without fat man...
deatclaws are freakin easy i just paralyse from a distance with poisoned dart and blast their faces off with shotgun or whatever..
This man speaks the truth. You haven't faced a Feral Ghoul Reaver if you don't think they are the hardest enemy in the game. I'd sooner fight Liberty prime.
EDIT: High level Dogmeat is a ***** to kill with Broken Steel as well, however fawkes is worse. He went hostile before I Inflicted a noticeable amount of damage. With Mini-Nukes. [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sKd0V2yZ4iY]
