I was planning on pointing out this game as well. So nice ninja work there.Cmwissy said:The Punisher - the game from 2004 (I think) It had torture and you get more points from killing people.
you could shove a Dagger through a guys mouth.
Rip out fingernails.
It was good.
If you would have followed the discussion closely, you would have seen my first post. I mentioned 'that' mission in Modern Warfare 2 AND the GTA series.archvile93 said:I take it you don't play GTA?Nincompoop said:Ehm... You murder civilians? Or at least helplessly watch whilst your 'teammates' do. I got the impression that you had to kill the civilians, so if you don't have to, it's probably just a lack of intelligent AI. Which again makes it insane that you're supposed to kill civilians.Kenjitsuka said:You DON'T have to do anything...Nincompoop said:Exactly... I'm not talking about how it looks with the graphics 'n' stuff. But the idea that you murder civilians because you're undercover and have to? That's fucking insane.Tekyro said:In my opinion, "that" mission isn't very violent. No more violent than the rest of the game really. Just controversial.
And you can even skip it all together.
So what's the problem?
It doesn't matter if you can skip the mission or not. It doesn't make the mission any less insane.
The entire of GTA 5 doesn't even compare to one execution in manhunt, for example, stabbing somebody in the eyes with a shard of glass.x0ny said:All games are just as violent as each other, it's the different targets and the morality behind it all which separates games. I hope GTA5 or any game in fact will introduce kids as things to shoot..
Imagine, you shoot the kid, the kid lets out this high pitched wail, the parent collapses onto the floor, completely devastated, sobbing. Just, brutal.
I'm not some sicko wannabe murderer who's played to much GTA or watched too many movies, I just feel that this sort of thing really hits home when showing the consequences of violence, and can really make an impact on how "violent" a game is.
Agreed. Death animations in Fallout 1 & 2 are totally awsome, it felt more gritty and fitted the world perfectly. Cleansing an area full of Super Mutants with Turbo Plasma Rifle and 100 % energy skill (face shots only) are one truly gory blast of fun.NezumiiroKitsune said:I stopped playing the Getaway because of the torture scene early in and the story, gameplay and characterisation sucked. I've since embraced the gore ridden nature of the games I escape into, like a warm bloody womb
The violence in Fallout games is legendary. Am I the only one who liked the Fallout 2 gritty violence / death animation a tad more than Fallout 3's? I mean Fallout 3's are very versatile unique, but I will never forget wiping out the Shark Club in New Reno for kicks. I had Butch as a companion and in an blood soaked display of visceral carnage he combat shotgunned 2 guys to death at once blowing their arm off, torso out, and head off in a radiant fountain of human flesh. Fallout 2 is an awesome game ^_^
