Poll: Whats your fav Race in WH:40K

I have really come to enjoy my guardsmen. Something about expendable flashlight squads appeal to my inner tyrant. I also TREMENDOUSLY enjoy the light armour spam that only the imperial guard can manage. Oh, and the cheap flame thrower units. They are fun too.

Nothing beats having heavy flamer sentinels sneaking around in cover, daring my opponents to come a little closer

my cousin tried to persuade me to get orks, and i ended up liking the eldar more, just thought the models were so much more interesting.
but now i'd probably pick dark eldar, if i had ridiculous amounts of time, money, an allergy to alcohol and a ton of empty tables.

I say the Space marines. In DoW they're the most adaptable army, so no matter what situation you put them in they'll have a way out of it. They have the ultimate uber-killer squad (assault terminators), and they're the only army that can drop a whole battle force smack dab into your base without them needing a building in it.

I'm torn.

I've narrowed it down to three.

On one hand, i have the Imperial Guard, as I can easily identify with their state of being in the WH40K galaxy. That being "screwed", something I would be if I were with them. Plus they've got a great flavor.

Then, on my other hand, I have the forces of Chaos, who are plain awesome no matter how you put it. Giant demonic battle-cathedrals, corrupting the pure, the warp Gods, all that other deliciousness.

And balanced on my head is the Orks. An' ev'ry boy nose 'ow dey'r gud fer'a right larf.

I'm going with the Imperial Guard.

I like hearing your reasons. I like mostly all faction of the WH 40K since they all speical in some way. But I have to say I hate Slaanesh, sorry to all your Slaanesh fans but that guy...girl...it? yeah lets go with it...It gives me the creeps. I perfer Papa Nurgle for Chaos. I might just make another thread discussion your Favorite Chaos god. Unless someone going to steal my idea <.< anyways Keep up posting and respect each other please.

They are what got me started.

This, even if they are squishy little blueberry heads.

I also like the IG, just because they are so easily underestimated, and the looks on peoples faces when you lay the smack down with an armored fists regiment is just priceless.

necrons and only because of the flayers where else will you see a robot covered in human gore otherwise i would go for the space wolf chapter of the space marines after reading the books ragnar is a badass

I have to say I like Space Wolves as well, though haven't read anything yet about them. Though I did read about the Luna wolves, Horus Space marine chapter. Which they were Awesome. I would say Horus Series is a good read. Can't wait to get the 2nd book <.<

Imperial Guard... In Warhammer books they have mixed depictions in Space Marine books they are cannon fodder for the marines ,but in Imperial Guard centered books they range from incompetent to Badass.

I'm surprise no one mentions the Titans. Ork titan's are awesome since their just slap on together with red paint...lots of red paint and spikes added on.

I realy feel for the poor Guard, sent to the line not expected to survive, plus they have the best vehicles, but I must say Tau, cecause of the whole caste sytem with the manipulating ethearials(however you spell it) and besides i <3 hammerheads.

No but seriously, the only race i played in 40k was Tyranids, and i freaking loved them, sure, they are a pain in the ass to manouver on the table but its all worth it.

Tau are awesome. Even though they suck at close combat, they make up in sheer firepower. I remeber in SS I had 5(The max for the air units for tau) Baracudas(SP?)and destroy a baneblade pretty fast. Im not 100% sure, but I think they computer had like 2 more(playing against 3 IG on Hard) I might have killed all 3 before their soliders brought me down. But it was awesome, though we lost that game.

guards are more popular than orks or crons... why? :'( They're just ordinary humans. Baw-ring. Personally, I like the kind of epic, grandeur and malevolence of cron backstory (the minis look crap though) and the funny brutality of orks. WH 40k has proper villains but the goodies are kind of boring. I say, roll on DE, chaos, nids, crons, orks, demons and whatever. Imperium is old news


Slightly more off topic. Who agrees crons need new models BADLEE. Current ones are spindly little buggers, no sense of ageless eveless or technological power. Might put up a thread on which minis most badly need redesigning.
