I'd like to change my vote to Chrono Trigger. Now that JRPGs are accepted into this poll.

The person with a 9 space poll.
And what flawed logic made you think IWD, NWN, FF 1 and Arena were better choices?
The fact that at the start I had about 4 poll options, I told people to tell me what im missing and by the time someone said Planescape it was full.

I STILL play Baldur's Gate to this day (the modded version which lets you play both games in one go, using all the improved classes from BG2), and anyone who's heard be espouse on my favorite games knows BG2 is counted on as my personal "Best Game Ever." A great story, great characters, and solid gameplay made this one phenomenal.

Mine would be Fallout 2 mainly because I liked the combat and stealing (Yes, you read right.)

Also, if im forgetting any, please, dont vote and post what im missing.
No Fable: The Lost Chapters? Well that's mine.

Way too new. Waaaaaay too new. And its not really a "Classic RPG"

I have a pretty high standard for games believe it or not. I won't play anything older than Fable: TLC.

E.g. I was playing GH II with my friend and the graphics made me vomit from my eyes.

So I guess I shouldn't reply to a thread involving classic games.

I now hate you for being graphics-oriented.

Baldur's Gate series, especially Baldur's Gate 2 as the best game ever made. I know I'm supposed to respect other people's opinions (and normally I do), but I can't help but feel that anyone who's voted anything else in this poll (except maybe Fallout1&2 or Planescape: Torment) is ignorant, sorry.

That being said, where's Planescape: Torment? If you're going to drag the mediocre NWN1 and the unfinished buggy mess that is Arcanum into this poll, at least mention one of the truly classic games of all time...

Baldur's Gate 2, no question. Not because it's simply a better game than any of the others, but because my friend and I spent 100+ hours playing and replaying it over and over. And after we memorized every nook and cranny we still had a blast. That's what a good game is in my book.

Of the ones you listed it's Baldurs gate...except I didn't like it.
I listed neverwinter nights
Yeah, after I posted. I will now vote for it.

EDIT: PS..do you seriously not know what Chrono trigger is?

Because that got suggested after people had suggested enough to fill the poll
Also, stfu, arcanum is epic.

Despite the fact that I only got around to playing the first two Fallout games, I was totally stunned with how they held up. Engaging game world and play mechanics, a pretty good non-linear story, and huge potential for replayability... they're not the longest games, and they have their rough edges, but I'm amazed that so few people know them these days.

Interestingly, I really disliked Neverwinter Nights. It's not a bad game by any means, but the story and characters are totally bland. Coupled with technical issues I could never really get myself engaged with it. I have heard that the expansions are pretty good, though, along with custom campaigns made by modders, so I might give it another try someday when there's a drought.

I also need to get in on Baldur's Gate. I've been contemplating getting a copy lately, but all the versions I've run across have been pretty expensive... I'll need to wait for a Steam or GOG.com release, I think.

Yeah, with Icewind Dale. You could just go ahead and pair up Halo and Fallout while you're at it...

(Just messing with ya, you really should play Planescape)

You can have my copy if you like, It has to rank as my most disliked RPG of all time...except FFVII. You'll have to pay for postage from the UK though.

Well I had to pair it with something so I took the thing with the least votes.
