Diablo series, but I recently found my old memory card, and checked what I had on it (at a friends, I sold my PS2), and I saw my entire RPG Maker game file. MY GAME still existed in some form, and Idon't have the RPG Maker game for the PS1 to be able to play it/fix any problems/change anything.

DIABLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
It was the first PC game I bought in 1996, after nine years of NES and SNES dedication ;)

What do you mean by "Wtf is this game anyways"?

It's a classic that implemented special attacks that work off each other, new concepts like alternate times effecting the outcome of your game or ending. Great music, great graphics, memorable characters with unique moves and storylines.

I've played the game too much, and it has currently lost its appeal to me to replay again, but thats only because it is my favorite game and I have exhausted it.

I really wish the brains in charge would remake this game. They do it for Bionic Commando and Mario bros...why not remake this classic (and an rpg to boot, when does that ever happen?) into a specticle of the eye and ear with a broadened experiance of the same game (more tech's, more area's, more effect on the outcome...but keep everything that was in the game originally)? Telling me that wouldn't make a lot of money and have the potential to be Great?
They released Chrono Trigger for the DS a while ago. There are no new characters but they have new areas that open up after you defeat Lavos that hold new items. Also the DS version has cutscenes that are animated and the endings are animated too. It also has something called Area of the Ages which adds a Pokemon like spin to the game.

Mother 3.
One of my favorite classics.
This and Earthbound (also part of the mother series) are defenitely the best. To bad that Mother 3 never got a U.S. release.

...arcanum is epic.
I second that. In what other game can you have a Mage with a sweet handle bar mustache that runs around "demanding satisfaction"?

I ticked Arcanum, since it has the most original elements in any of those RPGs, I would have possibly gone Planescape for the better story, but there's no way I can apply that to Icewind Dale.

My actual favourite is Star Control II, though arguably, that's not only an RPG, since it's also a Space Exploration/Action/Resource management/Adventure game. Yes, I'm not kidding, it has all those elements and a sense of humour. Graphics are a bit dated, but at least it's free now under the name: The Ur-Quan Masters.

It can be found here: http://sc2.sourceforge.net/downloads.php

Whats your favorite of the classic RPG games?

Mine would be Fallout 2 mainly because I liked the combat and stealing (Yes, you read right.)

Also, if im forgetting any, please, dont vote and post what im missing.
No Fable: The Lost Chapters? Well that's mine.
Way too new. Waaaaaay too new. And its not really a "Classic RPG"
I have a pretty high standard for games believe it or not. I won't play anything older than Fable: TLC.

E.g. I was playing GH II with my friend and the graphics made me vomit from my eyes.

So I guess I shouldn't reply to a thread involving classic games.
I now hate you for being graphics-oriented.
[sub]Not really, but you know[/sub]
I used to have a PS1 if it matters at all. I haven't complained about game graphics since I got my 360, though.

Anyone who played but did not vote Baldur's Gate 1 & 2 should be locked into an insane asylum and any who never played em should be forced to at gunpoint, so sayeth the wise Alaundo.

Final Fantasy 6.

I played and loved that before Baldur's Gate, and I like it more than Diablo 2 which took up so much of my life a few years back.

Of your poll options;

Diablo 2,
Final Fantasy 1 (2 can screw off),
Chrono Trigger,
Baldur's Gate 2 (Haven't played 1, and 2 is kicking my ass on normal. I'm so terrible at it...)

And those are the only ones I've played, so there ya go.
