Hydrophobia: Fear of water (or rabies)

While I'm not sweating the rabies thing, or water in particular, I have a fear of drowning. Comes with sleep apnea. I dream of drowning, thus I have a subtle subconscious fear.

All the rest of the phobias you listed I actually laughed at, especially the dark. I used to have a nightlight when I was a kid and I made a point of turning it off before I went to sleep because it annoyed me.

Fear of drowning isn't really phobia, unless you often think about it and it's affecting your every-day life.

And you seem to be mentaly healthy. Good job.

No idea what it is called or if it even counts as a phobia but my greatest fear would have to be waking up/being conscious during major surgery, like for example open heart surgery

I don't think about it constantly, but no. I would not want that to happen.

I had a fear of buttons as a kid. Freaked me the fuck out, counldnt wear anythign with them on.

I did not know that.. Which makes me feel better about having a phobia of vomiting... I've had it since I was in the third grade :\.

I'm absolutely terrified of drowning in a confined space (Ie a car or a confined room). Its a recent thing.. Just the last few years. The strange thing is, i'm a very strong swimmer. But its the water AND the confinded space that terrifies me

Initially I had a fear of swimming because my dad failed to teach me how to do it. One time I almost drowned because of him. But when I became 14 I took some private lessons to beat my fear and obtain a new skill.
As weird as it may sound my greatest fear now is failure. Considering I'm an obsessive over-achiever that doesn't consider anything impossible this did't come as much of a shock. Although only after several nightmares did I finally realise my phobia.
