I used to be deathly afraid of black dogs because one attacked me and bit me on the lip. I had to get stitches. Then our family got a black and white hound dog and I started volunteering with an animal shelter so I'm no longer quite as afraid but I have a healthy respect for dogs and will always keep a safe distance away from any barky or angry dog.

I also used to be extremely afraid of heights but I joined the Tech club at our high school and started working up on the catwalks which helped mellow down that fear.

Now CLOWNS are some creepy stuff. Eeks

I only have three true fears. Heights don't like them fairly tall at 6 feet and pretty damned clumsy so falling of something and getting spattered is a very real concern for me at least in my head.Rejection bearing my innermost self to someone, showing them everything i am and being told its not good enough or not what they want scares me silly. And last but not least zombies dead serious on this one. i just can't think of anything more frighting then being eaten alive by people i know turned in mindless cannibal corpses.though its a weird fascination based fear as i'll watch, read, etc anything with dead heads in it.

Two things freak me out.
One is heights. Anything above two stories & I get vertigo, then grab onto something to support myself.
The other is a rather irrational one... escalators.
Over time I've been able to cope with it, but I still freak out inside my head every time I have to use one.
- If you've ever seen the Itchy & Scratchy clip that's got the escalator, you'll know what I'm on about.
I used to be afraid of escalators and I blame it on the Simpsons, When I was younger I saw a clip where Homers shoelace gets caught in the top of the escalator and he falls down, stuck in the escalator while everyone steps on and over him until he is bloodied by both the escalator and the people. Plus it always seems like it would be way too eeasy to fall backwards and tumble down the whole flight of steps with all their little ridges.
