Poll: What's your type of stealth game?

So, when you're playing a stealth game, what sort of gameplay do you expect?
I'm surely missing some important game, but I can't think of which.

Personally, I like Splinter Cell and Thief games. Messing with the guardsmen's heads and killing all the lights is exhilarating, and nothing is as satisfying as finishing a mission without leaving a single trace behind (well, other than a few knocked out people)

Hitman style. My entire tactics revolve around dressing up as a guard, every time.

AC comes a close second with the crowd mechanic, I really liked that.

Splinter Cell and Thief. Shooting the lights, hanging over balconies, sitting in corners whispering "I'm invisible" to myself.

Splinter Cell, as you can see with my avatar. I love feeling like a ninja and setting up the perfect ambush.

I also loved when they lampshaded the whole ninja-thing in Chaos Theory, when you grabbed the guard in Hokkaido and he thought you were a ninja.

Assassins Creed is assassination gameplay. I would not call it a stealthgame, since most of the fun is running from guards and dissapearing. Although this is very, very fun.

Shadows I say. Shadows is stealth.

Becoming the enemy. Hitman is my favorite stealth game, but ironically Prototype has this kind of stealth, but a bit more... literally.

You did not mention platformer, which would belong almost exclusively to the Sly Cooper series. If you have ever played it, you might agree with my point here. It's stealth gameplay is quite fun as well. This slightly offends me because this game is the pinnacle of stealth platformers, and I do not want to see it left out.

Yeah thief and splinter cell, but my fave was the original Tenchu. Riki-maru was ice cold.

Stealth games rules, I usually go for the invisible approach. I love Thief.

Become your enemy and to be invisible well that's until my diguise is blown then it's terminator style gameplay.

Nothing says "Fuck you" then when you get assasinated by the guy that befriended you a week ago.

Hitman or Metal Gear solid style stealth games. I have never played Assassins Creed but god damn it I want to. maybe I should just go pony up the damn 15 bucks to buy it

A combination of all of it, please. I love to be invisible in general, be it blended in the crowd, hidden in the shadows or posing as 1 of the guards looking for me.
