Today I actually set out to buy some CDs from HMV today as I knew they had fairly good offers on, and for once were cheaper than Amazon. I mentioned it to the cashier who stated that was part of the problem and it occurred to me that I cannot remember the last time that I had gone to the shop for what I could buy online. I prefer physical copies of things over downloads but I still buy them online. I?m wondering if I?m alone in this.

If it's an artist I really enjoy I will usually go out and buy the CD. I mostly use Rhapsody and Spotify music streaming.

Last CD I bought was Deadmau5's new album. It's alright but I enjoy the artist so I'll support him.

I buy films all the time. Admittedly it's been a long time since I bought a physical copy of a song/album though, and almost as long since I've bought a physical copy of a game.

I am beginning to prefer digital copies of things. It is just easier, and most of my music goes on my Ipod/laptop anyway. Less physical copies, means less clutter and less objects to dust.

Now I haven't stopped buying physical movies yet, but that is because I haven't signed up for Netflixs yet....yet. I think buying a physical movie is more important to me then a physical album.

This might be because I was used to downloading music a lot in my youth off of things like Limewire. R.I.P

I always buy in store unless I absolutely can't find what I'm looking for. I've never downloaded any music at all, I just prefer the hard copy.

I bought a bunch of DVDs a couple of weeks ago.

I rarely buy albums, though. Digital copies are much more convenient for me.

I tend to only buy CDs that are on 3 or 2 for £10 in HMV, otherwise they tend to be too expensive. That said I do spend a fair bit of time browsing for stuff, the last thing I bought was City of Vultures by Rise To Remain and Eyes and Nines by Trash Talk, about a week or two ago. I do much prefer having the actual physical CD, but I'm not always willing to shell out a crapload of money for them.

It's been a couple I think. I buy tons of CDs but nearly always order them online now. Amazon 9/10 is cheaper than going to HMV for me, unless it's a buy x many cds for £10 deal, so I tend to just default to Amazon. It was a shame Music Zone closed because it was much cheaper than HMV and I'd go there every week and come back with tons of cheap CDs.

I just bought the Alien Anthology on Blu-Ray last week. All 4 movies (both theatrical and special editions)for $30. How could I pass that up? I did feel a bit dirty though as I got it from Wal-Mart. I'm not sure when the last time I set foot into one was.

Not sure when the last I bought a CD. It's probably been several years.

Do you mean film as in CD/ Blu ray?
If so I bought a couple of Pixar films (Monster Inc and Toy Story 3) and that Batman animated film boxset set (I only did it for Batman Year One as it was cheaper compared to the stand alone dvd of that film) a few weeks ago cos apparently my HMV card was going to expire soon so I may aswell spend a few more to use that £5 off on my next purchase option (which I gonna use it on the Christopher Nolan's Batman triliogy boxset for Christmas.

Also you're not alone as while I do prefer buying the CD/ DVD in person but it is so cheaper online to buy online.

I don't remember. The last time I tried to buy something in a physical copy was Cube, for a writing class. Blockbuster didn't have it, so that didn't go anywhere.

September...

Bought the blu-ray copy of the Avengers. Although before that, it's been a while.

I bought some professional wrestling dvd's from a used video store about two years ago before WWE stuff was on Netflix, and last year I bought my dad a blu ray for Christmas. I've been on the digital bandwagon since the days of KaZaA and 56k internet connections, so I maybe own 30 dvd/blu rays and 15 CDs in total, and most of those are gifts from various holidays in my life.

The last CD I bought was Nelly's Country Grammar, which means I haven't purchased a physical album for over a decade.

I must say, I'm sorta proud of that.

I always buy physical copies of all my media. It just makes more sense to m because I will always have it and I like to support the things I enjoy. I know if I created a movie or game or something it would be devastating if everyone just downloaded it without paying a dime and I was left to live out on the streets despite my hard work.

The last DVD I bought was Inglorious Basterds on blu ray about 3 years ago. It's actually still in the plastic.

Today my Portal 2 OST box arrived. A box of 4 CDs to put on my shelf.
I bought Pokemon Black 2 and Dishonored one day before release in my regular store.
There is another store that I visit every month with 10? to get me some sweet, bad movies. Was there last month. I also often buy other movies in the store because of the good prices.

Oh wait? Do you mean online shopping with delivery of the physical object? Or some form of didgital distribution. Because I really don't see a difference between ordering something and going to a store except I don't have to deal with driving the bus, standing in line and generally deal with the people there.
Hey sorry guys I should have been clearer I meant bought a physical copy from a physical shop in person. Any disk based media really rather than digital downloads or online shopping, in the Luddite fashion. I suppose to our collection it makes no difference but in the uk it has a done a good job of closing physical shops like: MVC, Fop, Virgin Megastores and countless independent ones no doubt.
