I have little to no interest in movies...so basically never, in the regard. However, I frequently buy physical copies of music releases...so within the past few weeks.

...Seriously? What the hell would I do that for? Ordering online is a hell of a lot cheaper, easier, less time consuming, involves minimal human contact and I don't even have to leave my room (just bought a few CD's like 5 hours ago actually, can't do that with any store at 1am :3). I really don't see any reason to buy albums in person, I mean if you're going into town anyway then I can see getting a film/game while you're there, but with purchasing music I just don't see the benefit. I literally can't remember the last time I bought an album in a physical store, though I got a DVD in a store a fair few months back just because it was at a half decent price and I wanted to see it. So I voted within the last 6 months, which would appear to me in a minority but looking at some of the posts I think the second clause to the question has eluded a fair few people.

I bought Cabin in the Woods on DVD earlier today.

The way I see it it's easier to rip than to burn and you get that pretty case and DVD cover.

physical discs are still the best, however i've been buying more and more digital stuff over the years. It's become VERY hard to find music CD's for the bands i listen to. So downloading has become much more convenient and almost the only way to go about it now a days.

As for movies, i never buy movies :p

i am forced to use digital copies. 99% of items that i like does not even make it to my country and isntead we got a whoel bunch of crappy russian comedies that even retards would find too stupid. for the rest 1% the pricing is so high that i can buy, say, a game on steam 5 times cheaper. 5 times. so yeah, ive gone digital 5 years ago.

I hold sentiment to CD collecting. Another hobby of mine....
Last CD I bought was at a cool record store in Melbourne that had a bunch of WarpRecords CD's.

In Australia it's quite hard to find labels such as Warp in regular stores because they need to be imported, but half the fun is searching :3

It feels more satisfying locating the thing I want in a store, so I favor that above online shopping unless given no other choice.

So...within the last three months. I think I bought that Sixx AM album in that timeframe.

Just bought Iron Sky on bluray the other week. I much prefer buying physical copies of movies, I like having a nice collection.

Thing is, I actually prefer digital copies. It's just really nice to not have your personal space cluttered and to be able to delete stuff you don't have an immediate need for knowing there will always be a redownload.

Somehow I've avoided buying shedloads of LPs this year (not so much the case last year...), but I pretty much never buy music digitally unless it's not available in a physical copy.

Same thing sort of applies with vidyagames, I imagine half of the stuff I've obtained on GOG.com is quite difficult to find a physical copy of, plus having an all-digital installation is easier to apply community fixes to, it seems.

I 'unno, I don't like being tied to a computer with music/film/TV.

Just the other day actually, sometimes the physical copy is cheaper or I just can't wait for shipping / download time. (Assuming it's not a digital download). I like having something tangible to touch just because I'm shallow like that. I approved of guild wars 2 having box copies for this reason.
