I like being alive but I like both of the songs about the same.

I hate how everyone gives the game Portal credit for the song "Still Alive". It was actually written by a great artist. His name is Jonathon Coulton. He also made the theme song for the popular tv show that aired on G4 "Code Monkeys". He's written a bunch of songs and I give him credit as an artist for making these amazing songs, like "Tom Cruise Crazy" and "Octopus". Love the song "Still Alive" and I loved the game Portal but u should give credit to who wrote the song. Or maybe who sang it. I cant remember her name but i think they actually had the chick that was the voice actor for Glados to sing it(with the voice modifications of course). :/

The song was commissioned and bought for Portal. Saying that Still Alive from Portal is awesome, is fine. Thank god I'm not in the room when someone compliments a movie in front of you. You would have them recite all 3,000 people involved in the production. Chill.

I doubt Coulton cares if he gets the credit for the song or not (over the internet), as at the end of the day the song is effectively "sung" by a character in the game. Although on The Orange Box OST Coulton has his own version of the song, and even played "Still Alive" using Rock Band at a gig.

This is why the internet is awesome.

The guy who wrote a song for a cult (or will be) video game, playing a live gig with rockband the game.

I actually said Portal's song in the poll, but actually, comparing the two I prefer Mirror's Edge. The Portal song is good, and quite humorous, but as for musical quality Mirrors Edge's Still Alive is better. It has a more beautiful melody and is quite haunting, captivating even.

Well as much as you think about it, he never really specified that he created it in the game that He created it.

That is usually told in the credits, but then again, what gamers do you know that sit down and actually watch the credits after beating a game.

So to the majority of Gamers who don't care, GlaDos created it, but to people who care, like us, Jonathon Coulton is the artist that deserves gratitude.
