Option one, no idea where to go next.

Although in Half Life 2, I lost my boat early on in the boat leavel. After so much walking away from that helecopter that kept killing me, I couldn't get any farthe rwithout the boat. I have yet to play HL2 again (it was recent.)

I'd say the path one. I usually don't play games with autosaving on, and I usually don't play games that have stupid "use the human tongue on the light bulb for some absurd reason" puzzles.

Also, I assume English isn't your first language? I had to read the poll answers to even understand what the title meant, and I can't really find correct grammar anywhere in your posts.

Other: When a game-changing choice needs to be made and I don't wanna make it. I love freedom and cause-and-effect in games, but some choices I just can't make, especially when it's between two goods or two evils.

Whenever the path is say Bioshock is clean and straight forward I move up to it and HEY the ceiling caves or some buggercunt locks the doors and I then have to wander around for something like two hours to fix that up.
I know that's to extend the experiance and I sort of respect it but it's very insulting when this happens EVERY FREAKING TIME!

I loved trying to beat Halo 3 on Legendary and getting stuck at an autosave with like 3 Needler rounds and no grenades. It went something like this:

"Hey I'll pick up this dropped Needler and use the ammo to weaken the enemies up ahead, then I'll come back and get my full BR that I've dropped when I'm done. That'll save ammo, and it's just smart to plan ahead."

*takes three steps forward, game auto-saves*

"WTF? I can't go back? I CAN SEE MY GUN LYING ON THE FLOOR! WHY CAN'T I GET IT?!?!"

*attempts to kill Brute Chieftan with three needles and bare hands*

Game over.

I really hate those damn "invisible path" things.... and they are in almost every platform game there is. I got stuck on my 6 years old brothers game boy game in about 2 hours becuase i couldnt find the key to the level exit.... how the hell would i know i had to jump down into a hole which looked just like one of those "instant-death" holes....

well its only half an option but I hate trying sneak into Military bases on S.T.A.L.K.E.R CS with only a hunting rifle that can hardyl kil someone point blank, Then trying to find cover and find a way out when I have few health left is very irritating.

The only times I ever get stuck are when I can't find the way, or when I've come across a boss that is so rediculously hard I still haven't beaten them 6 years later. Both of these have happened to me whilst playing FFXII. Extremely tiresome.

The place in a game I hate getting stuck the most is a boss battle after a long, unskippable cutscene. If a developer doesn't have the foresight to make cutscenes skippable, then chances are they didn't have the foresight to put a save point AFTER the cutscene, either.
