Poll: which is the best online shooter

i dont know what TF2 your playing Spartan Banana, i got on only a few times and their were tons of little bitches online yelling and screaming, then again i played on 360

Yeah, the 360 crowd for TF2 isn't quite where the PC crowd is, in terms of "niceness" - mainly because the same few of us play TF2 on the 360 very often, and if you aren't part of that group, you're in danger of getting yelled at.

Even on the 360 though, TF2 generally has a better community than something like Halo 3.

Beside that CoD4. I have logged in countless hours on that game.
The R6V and R6V2 multiplayer is underrated. I loved both those games, even if the story in Vegas 2 shat all over itself

Halo 3, because the ONLY way to make it balanced is to make everyone identicle.

It's better than Gears for more options and less lag and general wierdness (like spastically sliding into cover to dodge bullets).

Those are all good, just that Halo is so much better.

TF2. Especially servers with 5 second respawn times (not insta-respawn, that kind of makes it annoying to kill say, all of the enemy snipers only to have them suddenly re-appear without a break).

Yahtzee worship???? I knew Halo 3 was gonna be mediocre before it came out.

It's an OKAY game, fun to play with friends, but no real reason for replay value.
Sure you have a rank that goes up or down depending on how well you play, but if its nothing than a little symbol then you're not really pushing yourself to unlock anything other than a small piece of bling next to your name.

At least in CoD4 you have the weapon unlocks to work towards, along with the whole prestige mode thing.

GRAW 2, Vegas, and Resistance are all shit multiplayer. Warhawk and Gears of War are decent online, while Halo 3 and CoD4 are pretty good. However, I don't think any of them is the best online shooter out there.

TF2, BF1942/BF2, Counter-Strike, Unreal Tournament 99/2004, and the Quake series are all superior than anything on that list. Though, I suppose you might be only going for recent titles, in which case TF2 would be the top one.

Has to be Unreal Tournament, namely because they actually designed it to be a multiplayer game unlike things like Halo 3 (in my opinion, being vulnerable to death whenever your shields are down, that being most of the time, does ruin the fun somewhat).

Indeed. The Ps3 crowd and the PC crowd are much more cooperative and friendly than the 360 crowd for this game.

PS3 crowd are friendly? Yes, I'm a 360 player and I'll admit live is full of stubborn idiots, but I have a friend who is ps3 player and as soon as I say that one little thing 360 does better than the ps3 he starts disagreeing with my opinion and saying that I'm an idoit and how the 360 sucks. Even when I agree that the ps3 is better in some fields than the 360 he's still being stubborn dick. So a majority of ps3 player are stubborn and don't respect opinions of other people. As for this poll, it left out a lot of big online shooters like UT, CS and quake arena, making it look like best online cosole shooter, so I'm not voting.

You're kinda misunderstanding me. Within the online multiplayer environment, Ps3 users tend to be on average more cooperative, more courteous and more polite. Within the online multiplayer environment being the key term here.

A little. Some Halo 2, some Halo 3, some Live and Reloaded, some The Darkness.

Then you really shouldn't be too judgemental on the xbox live community. I've met plenty of co-operative and decent players, with good manners and respect for their fellow compadres. Of course there's plenty of cocks to even out the balance, but we're not all bad. ;]
