Oblivion because I prefer fantasy, plus the backstory appeals (sp? I'm having a retarded day today.) to me more.
You know when I was but a child I became terrified of an Army Man game because of the massive ants too. Maybe there is something about massive ants that is just plain distressing.Ieyland said:You know what's so pathetic about me? I couldn't play it the first time because I was too afraid of the giant ants. I know, I know. The giant spiders in DA:O also scare me. But they don't scare me from playing an awesome game anymore.

The next newest thing from Bethesda will always be better than the last.
Also, I was under the impression the Elder Scrolls games are done because the story arc with the Emperor is finished. I think all that really means is the title, "Elder Scolls", wont be used for future games taking place in the fantasy world they've created.
either they are done or nearing it, they have been developing it since 2008 but I cannot find it anyway on amazon or any other sites similar pre-ordering TES V not even on the official website so it doesn't look good.
In Contrast Oblivion punishes you for taking certain skills. Alchemy, speechcraft, and barter come to mind off hand, but there's others. Why? Because they don't help you out in combat, but they do determine your level, and thus the combat level of your enemies.Onyx Oblivion said:Oblivion.
It doesn't shove Small Guns, Lockpicking, and Science down your throat. It does encourage Melee, though.
That game actively hates players who don't take those skills...At least for the first few hours. PEW PEW goes the pathetic Laser Pistol from Super Duper Mart.
To be fair, in oblivion you have blades and blunt and all you ever did is hit people with them. You could also use Bows.Mucinex-D said:Fallout 3 the first time through was amazing... but it has no replay value. It has WAY less game time than oblivion (without buying all the ad-dons which I don't feel like spending 50 dollars on). Also the class customization in oblivion was much better. With Fallout 3 you got "big guns, small guns, or laser guns" but all were pretty much the same thing.. guns... So as for replay value I would say Oblivion. As for a fun time playing through just once they are tied.
Just what in the world do you guys do? I keep changing my characters in the middle of a playthrough (oh no, I don't wanna play melee no more, I'm gonna be a thief! Being thief is real boring in combat, I'll be a mage!)Panzer_God said:I have one problem with your entire quote. Only 250 hours? I have both the 360 and PC too and I probably clocked over 400 hours through high school.Scythax said:My intelligent side says that Fallout SHOULD be the better game in my opinion, but the simple fact is that it isn't. Oblivion was my very first proper PC game, and my first 360 game as well because of it (I baught it twice), and I must have racked up at least...helll...250 hours playing it and loving EVERY second. In fact, since the day I got my 360 until now, Oblivion is still my most often and most enjoyed game to play out of everything else.
What's wrong with the voice acting?cuddly_tomato said:Fallout 3.
The AI in Oblivion was an immersion killer. Not to mention the crappy plot and the shocking voice acting.
