If it wasn't for the whole reaper thing, I'd pick Mass Effect. Until I see how Shepard deals with that whole fiasco, I'm placing my feet firmly in the Star Trek camp.

As much as I love Mass Effect, I would not want to live in that setting. Whole colonies tend to get wiped out there at an alarming rate. Geth, Reapers, Batarian slavers... Just sounds like an unhealthy place to live.

Or a hive world, or an agri world, or were part of the Church, or lived on teh fringe systems, or lived on Earth, or were conscripted into the Imperial Gaurd. Life for everyone but the nobles and officers sucks pretty hard. Just saying. But the 40k universe is definetly the coolest of them all.
