Poll: Which Video Game Franchise (besides Sonic) Most Deserves to End?

Final Fantasy, hands down. It got old at 6. Now I hear they've already came out with a 12. Someone needs to get all the huge enormous swords that the pesky teenage main characters use to stab poor old Sephroth over and over and over, and stab them all repeatedly into the heart and soul of FF.

That shit should have ended at 4. It just went downhill from 2.

FF6 was Great and FF7 was also awesome... then we got FF8...Craptacular!

FF9 looked good because it was a return to form, and FF10 mixed it up a bit.

FFXI... FF12 "what are these mystical beings?", "The Military battleships?"

I was tempted to say Final Fantasy, but then I had to go with Crash Bandicoot and Spyro. Those poor games are like two haggard, old donkeys. The first three games were great, but once Universal got a hold of them they just crushed the poor creatures. Now their frail forms are limping and dragging on while they are violently whipped. They just need to walk away and let the poor things die.

I play guitar, and I can play the solo to Metallica's One reaaaaally easily, but when I try to do it on expert on Guitar Hero, I fail within a few... no within one second of it starting.

Technicly they are dead, the real style of gameplay was lost when the ps2 came out then Insomniac and Naughty Dog sold their Franchises for something new...

amen i can play californication on bass and guitar, but i dont think they have that on guitar hero

I'm going to have to go with Mario on this one, sadly. I love pretty much all of them but unless they can come up with something completely unique, they should just let it die. And not just Mario platformers, I mean Mario sports games, racing games, whatever.

He's cleaned up pollution and traveled outer space. He's mastered every sport and even had his own Dance Dance Revolution.

And he's had MORE than enough damn parties.

(although maybe smash bros can be allowed to live a bit longer)

Guitar Hero. With the addition of custom songs you could theoretically just release "expansion packs" of songs and that should do everyone.

Final Fantasy / Crash-Spyro / Mario / Halo all follow closely behind. Hard to decide.

Halo should end it's finished the story if you can call it that and now they are just getting into spin offs which while I'm looking forward to Halo wars ODST just seems kinda lame and any more Halo games are just riding on the name because they know no matter how bad it is the fanboys will buy it.

Oh yay, let's all jump on the "I hate Halo" bandwagon. For some reason, I'm finding you hard to take seriously. Probably the anti-halo fanboyism (which is just as bad as regular halo fanboyism), lack of full stops, and ZP avatar.

...Sorry, the hating halo for no reason thing gets on my nerves. I'm not saying the series is perfect, or even all that good, but come on!

Anyway, I have to say Mario. Sure, the main games might be good, but take a look at the 3-d spin off to main game ratio, probably about 1000:3.

Ninja gaiden. Yes, it's good, but we have enough good ninja games, and the series seems to be getting worse by the game. If i wanted a hard ninja game, i'd wait for strider 3

I'm sorry, I know its opinion based but who can honestly say Gears of War has had its time. Its 2 games in guys! Its a decent enough series. Saying 2 games is enough time to call it quits, should put every game and there dogs and dogs cousins on this list. I mean is anyone going to enf the Elder Scrolls series just because its on its 5th installment? No because we all want Bethesda to give our eyes more sex. Just with some new strangers in cold with burly men. Good times.

I chose Crash / Spyro. When questioned Naughty Dog said recent Crash games were "like watching your daughter do porn". They're not the games they once were, the genre defining giants. They need to be laid to rest.

Though the title was changed slightly to try and fool newcomers and whoever makes these things obviously subscribes to the "Because we said so" school of sequel numbering, they don't even have the common decency to let us know it's a sequel. And they always have the same content, always the same complaints etc. Very repetative.
