Poll: Which Video Game Franchise (besides Sonic) Most Deserves to End?

Personally, I reckon Halo should end. The 3 games were good enough, in every aspect, to be left alone now they're finished! I expected an RTS to pop-up somewhere along the line, but when it does, let the series end.

As for the others:

Final Fantasy: I'm sure I read somewhere that XIII would be the last one, but really, I don;t want FF to end. I love the FF games - the're all different, in at least some respects, they are all very good quality RPGs (bar a few mishaps *cough* X-2 *cough*) and the design of each game is all areas is flawless.

Crash Bandicoot/Spyro the Dragon: Yep, should end, but I chose Halo since that hasn't been killed off completely yet, whereas the latest Spyro games are a classic case of the downfall of games since the PlayStationOne era.

Guitar Hero: Nah, they might be annoying, but at least they're fun at parties.

Grand Theft Auto: Meh, they might make another Vice City, who knows? Or perhap they'll stop reusing the same fucking places over and over again, and that would make it better.

Gears of War: NezumiiroKitsume already made the right point about Gears of War, no need to say anything else.

Legend of Zelda: Eh, they're still producing good enough games with LoZ aren't they? They're still a staple of the Fantasy Adventure genre, and are still playable without cringing. Therefore, LoZ is fine to continue, in my books.

Mario: OK, maybe Mario needs to die. Or, perhaps, maybe he needs to return to the handhelds and stay there, and indulge in old-fashioned, Mushroom KINGDOM (not Universe) saving quests. Also, the Mario RPG games were fantastic, so there are still some good Mario games. Just stop it with the Karting, OK?

Other: Sonic?

Perhaps they should end Final Fantasy, but instead just secretly continue the games but with a different title.

Like Ending Dream, or Completed Illusion.

Or Lost Odyssey. Oh yeh, wait, that wasn't Square Enix anyway.

Anyway, I also think it is time Tomb raider was put to rest. The whole concept, not least of all the "character" of Lara Croft, is just too 90's for this day and age...

I would like people to know that I don't think that every option that I put on the poll need to end, I just put the first game franchises that came to mind (in terms of franchises that I've seen many people say "This series needs to end").

Classic - you hate Halo because of the story...

Let me clarify that - you hate a FIRST PERSON SHOOTER because of the story...a story that is told entirely through cut-scenes and is only there to set the scene for the next fantastic encounter the game throws at you.

Give it up with the Halo hate - its a good game.

Eh speak for yourself buddy. I don't like Halo, I just don't think it's fun. The story is dumb, the multiplayer is boring and stale. The map design is not great and your health regenerates in like two seconds so if you're about to die just get away for a couple of seconds and you're fine. The controls are meant for a PC game and the community is a group of some of the worst people imaginable. I don't like Halo, it's your own opinion, not a fact that it's a good game.

Final Fantasy doesn't deserve to end. People just hate it cause its popular. Just like halo, just like Naruto. I clicked mario just because I really only liked Mario RPG, everything else was no fun for me. Well, mariokart was fun.

Halo has ended with Bungie save for Halo ODST which is more of an expansion pack rather than a sequel, but it is Microsoft who keeps bleeding Halo dry.

Halo is a great game, but because Microsoft abuses it is the reason why people are tired of it. Halo Wars looks great because we all wanted a Halo RTS which is awesome. I love Bungie, but I hate Microsoft.

Final Fantasy: I actually like this series...all of them. Sure none of them are as good as 7,8 and 9 was, but how can one top perfection? Although, all the games after 10-2 were ridiculous and don;t deserve the FF title. They took the "love" out of the series which made the series awesome.

Crash Bandicoot/Spyro the Dragon: They haven't made great game for these two characters in a while. Sure their first games were fun, but they got worse after as time went by. Either create a great game for them or let them rest in peace an spare the punishment they are getting

Guitar Hero: I don't see the point of making these games since after the first one. The first one was unique, but now they are just spewing these out like nothing.


Grand Theft Auto: GTA 4 was better than San Andreas, but that ain't saying much. Vice City was awesome and is probably at the pique of how good a GTA game could be. If they followed the rest of GTA series with the same flavor as Vice City had, then maybe they couls save this series. If not, let it rest in peace.


Gears of War: This series is still just a baby...a teenager if anything so let this one pass till the third installation. Then we can talk.


Legend of Zelda: This series never gets old....not once did I ever get bored with these games.

Mario: Mario bounces with game. Sometimes he creates shit like Mario Golf, Tennis, and the mario parties, but then he always bounces back with an even good game like Sunshine, Galaxy, Luigi's Mansion (although this one is a spin off, and so on,


Other:
Street Fighter: Half the time the games are just remakes.
Mortal Kombat: Maybe....I don't know if they do another cross world one and continue to tone down the violence or make another game like Shaloin Monks...then yes it needs to die.


Iffy ones:
Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory was awesome....Double Agent...not so much.....We have to see what Convicition is like before I make my choice about this one.

Yea I agree, but not yet. They have a story line to finish. Valve has always been good with their game choices so I'd be happy enough if the half-life team tried something else.
