Lemme see, because of them I had to get an emulator to play Mother 3 and Fire Emblem Sword of Seals (starring Roy).
I'm sure you think the whole "car" thing is very interesting... But I fail to see where the fun or interest lies... So... A resounding "...what?".RAKtheUndead said:I don't see any of those shows setting the world indoor speed record or racing across Japan to see whether a car can beat public transport, or racing across Bonneville Salt Flats in a variety of muscle cars, or being the first people to drive across the Makgadikgadi salt pan. And that's only some of the exploits of the Top Gear team. (Crossing the English Channel in a Nissan pick-up truck is one of my favourite audacious projects.) When Japanese shows do focus on cars, they focus on stupid drifting and so on. Let's just say that there's a reason why a Japanese manufacturer has only ever won the 24 Heures du Mans once, and has never won a championship at Formula One. They're just not ambitious enough.
And if we're going to bring films into it, I don't see any Japanese films where people risk their lives driving 240mph sports prototypes and actually competing in a gruelling 24 hour race in order to get proper footage. [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Le_Mans_(film)] But that's beside the point.
Then you should be able to recognize that "Giant robots" are in no way less believable or "realistic" than... Well... Anything in Doctor Who really. In fact they're MORE realistic, they're big robots. We have the robots, just gotta make'em bigger and better.RAKtheUndead said:BTW: Let's just say that I've recognised the inaccuracies in science fiction. I think you are. I mean, I know things are always up to personal taste, but...I'm trying to figure out what you would consider good artwork in a western cartoon.Caliostro said:Honestly, from what I've seen... Not impressed... The artwork is pretty meh though... But then again I'm very picky in that department.NeutralDrow said:You forgot Avatar: The Last Airbender.
I suppose there is. However, since the comparison was Cowboy Bebop/Death Note/Akira/Evangelion and the Simpsons, I couldn't imagine why it would be purposefully excluded. I could see a comparison with, say, Crayon Shin-chan or Excel Saga, but the only similarity between those named anime and the Simpsons is that they're all cartoons.Caliostro said:There is a distinct difference between forgot and purposely didn't include.
I can tell you're not really interested, but for the sake of my conscience...Hardcore_gamer said:I don't like anime, mostly because it seems to be beyond them to make a action anime that does not have any robots or ninjas in them. Well there is Hellsing but that the only one i know about.
Pizza is not fast food, nor can it be fast food. it takes too long to prepare a pizza to cook, while you can buy buns, you cant buy quality pizza dough. the sauce normally is different from the kinds you can buy from a super market, while quality mozzarella has to be shredded. The infamous SCAMola said:Don't you dare call Pizza fast food, maybe that bastardized version you eat in America is, but the real Italian Pizza is a thing of art and one of the healthiest foods around.Gormourn said:So you're saying that we should hate sushi because it's fastfood? So what? Pizza is fast food, and I love it.
I don't care whether it's eastern or western. I'm simply stating that the western ones I've seen just don't seem to measure up, specially artwork wise.NeutralDrow said:I think you are. Careful when you quote people, that's not my quote.NeutralDrow said:I suppose there is.
