Us, followed very closely by EA. Seriously though, gamers are dicks. To each other, to people who don't agree with them, to companies that make games they don't like or minor decisions they don't like (I mean, some things I get being pissed off about, but others are just ridiculous).

My opinion (don't flame me) is that people should really just stop whinging. Its not as if any of these companies are doing anything wrong in terms of human rights or any other serious issues, so I don't really hate any of them. Almost all of them make/publish games I like, so why should I hate them? Sure, if I was working their and they laid me off, then I'd hate them sure, and I don't hold anything against anyone in that situation. And if you knew someone who was laid off, or even just felt strongly about the issue, maybe you would be justified. But you can't just go on blaming the company as a whole, because a) There are many subdivisions in the company, some could be excellent in terms of these issues but get hated because of other divisions, and b) They are there to MAKE MONEY, not to make you feel great. If something makes or saves them money (such as bad business practices), why would they stop? Its not necessarily against the law, if it was they wouldn't be doing it.

For example, all the hate on Activision is unjustified. People give reasons like" Oh, they should stop making the same CoD game every year end start innovating". You buy their games, they make bucketloads of cash off them, why would they stop? You want them to innovate, stop buying their games. Even if you do stop, plenty of people find it fun, and if you find the game fun, you're going to buy it. They must be doing something right. This is the same as most of these companies, I think we are all just afflicted with "Lets all hate on the big corporations" syndrome (me included, to some extent).
/rant.

EDIT: I also agree with plenty of people on this thread that plenty of gamers are dicks. Also, OP should learn to spell.

I thought Jim Sterling was supposedly the biggest douche in gaming. That's what his add banners said, anyway. Seriously, though, EA's tactics and (some of their) products fill me with rage. Especially their marketing.

At the moment EA have the top spot for their TOS with Origin.

Ubisoft and Activision tie for second with the Form Dust: does it have always on DRM or not? issue and the fact that Bobby Kotick is still CEO and they are not only listening to him, but trying to implement his ideas.

GameStop takes fourth spot for removing Onlive coupons from Deus Ex.

Honnerable mentions: Interplay, Team Sonic, Capcom.

Rankings may change due to changes in company policy etc.

I don't like the word hate. I suppose I am most 'displeased' with EA. But they aren't douches, just dicks who have reached the boundary of Dickfinity (Something that most people thought was impossible!).

It's rather hard really.

For some reason a lot of the big companies today seem to go out of their way to just be utter assholes to their customers.

Talk about push-pull polling, this poll should be done again with links to various recent (and non recent) events relating to each publishers blunder or mishap. It comes across as a bit biased, I selected "other" as I think people (media/marketing dept) are essentially to blame.

EA by a longshot.

Shame Activision is going to win this pole. Some of the hate they get is just undeserved.
i think they cop shit due to kotick and their/his business methods, but i still think they are f*wits

it always was Between EA, Activision and Capcom. EA won with origins, but activision is pretty close behind with what they do to DiabloIII and WoW for money. and Capcom because its japan, and japaniese people hate giving us most of the games we want from them.

Anyone who charges 60$ for a digital download.
I will personally stalk them until they can take it no more and then strike when they are weak.
No seriously, it makes absolute no sense to charge a full 50$ for a digital download, let alone a fucking 60.

You know what when I saw this thread one name sprung to mind, Peter Molyneaux. I wish he would just stop making crap up and annoying everyone.

Out of your choices I'd definitely say EA. I have played The Sims 3 since it came out and they have the worst customer service I have ever seen. One time the exchange was down for ages, people were raging and complaining and what did they do during a patch? Added buy able badges to the site. :|
EADM was the worst software to ever roam the planet and Origin looks like it's shaping up to be it's horribly invasive younger brother. I have Origin on my PC for the Sims and I wouldn't be surprised if they ban me from my games for this post! Lol. They once banned a girl from their forums and all her games for posting a lolcat on their forums, I'm not even kidding.

Hard to choose really. I'll just ramble about a few things that annoy me.

EA - The way they're marketing SW:ToR. Putting a digitally distributed game up for pre-order is all good, but limiting the number of pre-orders (of something which is only limited by bandwidth) and charging a stupendous amount of money for the "privilege" of pre-ordering is one mighty dick move. Still, it seems to be working, proving that we gamers will happily throw money at anything that has a popular IP or developer name on it. (I'm not bashing ToR, it's just we barely know if it's going to be worth a pre-order yet)

Capcom - Cancels long awaited game, blames fans. Releases incomplete game, releases "patch" as a new game.

Ubisoft - Their DRM, I'm all for trying to prevent piracy but having to have an internet connection for offline gaming is just silly.

Activision - It would be nice to see an innovative game from them, but there's plenty of other developers out there so I'm not particularly bothered about Activision. I suppose one genuine gripe would be that they've done nothing (except blame Sony) to stop hacking on the PS3 version of some earlier CoD games.

That's all I guess.
