Poll: Who makes the best games?

I'd say Valve. Second goes to Blizzard, third is Double Fine.

Nintendo used to be my favorite game developers, but they've had it in favor of the kiddy/housewife/granny demographic.

None of the above. They all produce the shovelware that modern gaming is polluted by. That and both JRPGs and Half-life 2 annoy me greatly.

I vote Square Enix. I'm not just saying this because I have fond memories of playing their games while I was younger. I just replayed FF7, and it's still better than 98% of the stuff being pumped out today.

It's really subjective to both personal opinion & genre. For WRPGs, it's a tie between Bethesda & BioWare. For shooters, Infinity Ward & Valve are tied, etc.

Nintendo. I know it might be in vogue to hate them, but they always have the highest quality games, and by the quality of Mario Galaxy and Twilight Princess, don't look like stopping anytime soon.

Valve is centered on first person shooters, but yeah it DOES make good games. Right now I'm forced to go for Blizzard. I'm a huge Starcraft and Diablo fan, and now they got me all hyped up for both Starcraft 2 and Diablo 3.

Every one of these companies has had ups and downs. I'd say Valve are probably the most consistent.

Pretty confident that Microsoft don't make games, Microsoft Games Studios just assist other developers. All of those games are a bit poor as well.
I should have voted for Valve really but I'm a bigger Bioware fan.

I'd say Sega first (Condemned, Condemned 2, Medieval II Total War, JSRF etc etc), followed by Capcom (for Devil May Cry, Lost Planet, Dead Rising, Resi 4 etc), then Microsoft (for gears, Halo, and Mass effect.

However, I am aware that much of the above is down to their publishing. If it's developer as opposed to publisher, then Valve, Monolith, Capcom and Ubisoft are safe.
