Nope, they get like over 100k for Allison surgery and right after that they complain about not getting money and say "Well we're keeping all this money, but we're gonna bail now so fuck you". Could be interesting to watch no doubt, be I'm not doing that on principle.
if you did watch the episodes after the incident, you would know that they are using the left over money to publish games from small indipendent studios. sure, if they will succeed is another question, but they aren't holding it for themselves.

Wow.. Just.. Wow... it took you a mere 53 seconds to decide that you should disembowel and forcibly choke someone with their own intestines, because you dislike their voice. I think you have some serious problems.
I wasn't being serious.

I think it's pretty obvious I wasn't being serious.

Come on folks, I should not have to explain that i'm not being serious when I make any form of comment I never take anything seriously I think thats pretty obvious after how many hundreds of posts?

That aside, I still dislike his voice.

I stopped watching after they stopped doing the youtube reminders.
I don't like the PA website so yeah... they're pretty much done for me, it was really nice while it lasted
They still do the YouTube reminders. They may have stopped for a bit (I don't know), but they're certainly showing up in my sub box now.

Contrary to popular belief, internets are not, in fact, particularly serious business. Not liking the voices, the writing, the subject matter, or the artistic style still qualifies as good reason not to watch - contrast that to the OP's completely illogical decision to stop watching on the basis that he didn't like the style of one episode that was advertised as being done in a style that would probably never be seen again.

Why don't you take Yahtzee, make him do away with his artwork, force him to talk slowly, sigh occasionally, and tell everyone how gaming touched him in a bad place for 10 minutes... and then do it again a week later so he can finish his story. I'd bet you money that people would stop watching ZP in droves. It's not just a deviation of style.
...yes, it is. The fact that people tend to be irrational morons doesn't change the nature of what they're reacting to.

No, simply because there was a gigantic decline in the quality of the episodes in the first month. And I remember getting really annoyed about how they based about three episodes on the idea that games aren't addictive.

Which is totally wrong according to the evidence. Which is when I lost respect for their opinions & stopped watching.
I like how you completely ignore the foundation of their argument and then judge the episodes in question on the basis of that ignorance.

yeah I watch them. I go to that site for the penny-arcade comic anyway, so it wasn't much of a loss for me when they went there.

I do notice a lot of people complain about the gaming addiction episodes, but its the internet people. It doesn't oblige you to watch anything and you can always tune in next week.

I hardly watched it when it was on the Escapist, only really watched it when I had a uni assignment due. I thought it was quite a preachy boring show to be honest (in my opinion). Jimquisition is a humorous alternative methinks :D
Don't forget pretentious too.
That too. I dunno I watched the episodes the OP mentioned and I thought "jesus would someone drop an axe into the back of this guys head?" ah well too each their own :D
are you guys insane?!?! Jimquisition isnt even close to being a show anything like extra credits plus i find it a somewhat obnoxious, uninformative show and dont much care for it. I have to say i love extra credits, its informative, funny, accessable and from my perspective a far superior show. i've never known the show to get preachy and i've never once found it to be boring... thats kinda like saying the whole of ted.com is preachy and boring, such a statement is fundamentally wrong on so many levels. Personally i'd rather learn and expand my understanding of my favorite past-time than get blargged at by an imbecile and feel my brain die with each passing second.
You forgot the "in my opinion" part :D Also the other fellow didnt say he liked it so only I am apparently insane. Yes its informative in the same way that Gears is a first person shooter (quote). In my opinion it is very preachy what with the whiny voices and that god awful games ruined my life James episode. Nothing wrong with Jim he is just as informative as extra credits (burn) only more humorous about it. Seriously though its a goddamn 5-10 minute internet show, at the end of the day who the fuck cares. There are many more pressing issues than declaring undying fealty and loyalty to an internet show...

In my opinion :D
you got to be kidding? Jim is not as informative as Extra Credits. yes Jim is funnier than EC, but EC are way more informative.

I will add that I'm a big fan of both shows (although the first episodes of the Jimquisition was kind of bad), and I have to say that EC is the superior intellectual show. Jim is funnier though.
In my opinion:D

Yeah the episode where James got up and told that sob story about game addiction was a real "wtf?" moment for me,(I remember clicking through the episode going "okay when is this d-bag I've never seen gonna stop talking so we can get to the real show? ...holy shit that's James?) and I found it increasingly hard to watch any following episodes. I still have it in my YouTube subscriptions, but the topics over the past several weeks sounded kind of bland. I think the last episode I watched was the "Pro Gaming" episode.

I dunno, the show just seems to have lost something since it left the site.

A deviation of style vs a deviation of content. James decided to stop writing insightful observations to be presented and instead decided to go on the air and whine for 10 minutes about how his life was practically ruined by his inability to govern his impulses. Sorry, but even if it had been presented in a squeeky voice and an art palate in front of it, it still would have been awful. Then he did it again a week later. The part of my post you bolded was correct. EC didn't just change style, they changed content. Saying "yes, it is" is like saying "Star Trek" (the recent reboot) and "Schindler's List" were essentially the same thing but with a different style...

I watched it religiously while it was on The Escapist and YouTube, but after the schism my interest waned a bit. I plan on picking up on what I've missed once I finally get a free day. The only reason I haven't followed it so much these days was because it went over to PATV, and while I personally have nothing against that channel, I rarely ever go to PA for any reason other than on accident. At least, until I found out that ENN went over there.

I still watch ENN/Checkpoint now. I thought that show was well-liked here, but I lately I've been reading that people really didn't like it all to well on The Escapist (hell, even tvtropes.org mentioned it).

Mine is option E: I stopped watching about 2-3 weeks before they left and even now am finding it difficult to remember the show's title. I know they had important messages and all but it was always such a downer to watch the show. I come here to be entertained by Ben, Jim and, Bob (also unskippable, I can't remember the names of the guys who do that and deeply apologize) who are all upbeat in their own ways. If I want to get down or, feel paranoid I'll look at the threads on here about Humanity's Newest Low.

I didn't mind the GA episode. It's not like they are doing that constantly (now that would indeed suck. See => Game Overthinker). It was (hopefully) a one off thing and as that it was ok. Though it probably helped that I only "discovered" them there after the GA had already passed. If I had gotten them on a regularly scheduled time maybe I would have been pissed too.

The episode on SciFi bugged me much more as far as waste of time goes.

But there have been good episodes from the new set. I rather like the more industry focused one like the one on publishing, producing and working conditions. Pacing was good as well. The propaganda stuff could have been done in more depth, but still overall aolid.

I watched like the first 2 Jimquistions and didn't get into it at all. But it sounds like it improved since then?

Yes, and I am also looking forward to watching the movie by Hank and Jed, the people behind Doraleous and Associates :D
