I went out a bought Deus Ex Human Revolution after having watched the last 3 episodes.

But Yes the Games Addition episode did almost turn me off the series, but the funny thing is I realized that James looks exactly like a teacher I had for a class on writing Comics.

Why don't you take Yahtzee, make him do away with his artwork, force him to talk slowly, sigh occasionally, and tell everyone how gaming touched him in a bad place for 10 minutes... and then do it again a week later so he can finish his story. I'd bet you money that people would stop watching ZP in droves. It's not just a deviation of style.
Except first, part 1 wasn't like that, so we're already predicating that on a falsehood.

I guess that's okay though.

Second, if you actually think people would give up on Yahtzee for one video where he didn't talk fast, use triple cunted hooker jokes, and use cheap animation, you're crazy.

Besides, Extra Credits always deals with real issues, and ZP is dick and fart jokes. Trying to equate the two is rather forced and contrived, on top of the bullshit of pretending that bother parts of the game addiction series were like that.

its up on penny arcade and I grantee you, James hasn't hijacked the show. He had said he couldn't write this episode, and I do agree I didn't like that episode though my reason is different. See Daniel Floyd is a good speaker, he can broadcast his voice qnd speak clearly, James is a great writer but his voice is very soft and he's not good at broadcasting it.
(Broadcasting is a term i use when your trying to get your voice across the room without shouting, I do some acting in school so that's a phrase I've coined since you often have to make yourself loud enough to hear with shouting.)

I wish I did, cause I love the show, but I have a hard time keeping up with it because I have to go over to Penny Arcade's website, which I don't normally frequently visit.

I FOUND escapist, and LEARNED to visit it regularly because of Extra Credits. The only thing that keeps me coming back here is zero punctuation and jimquisition. Otherwise I'd left with them (and never found out it has actually pretty good community/forums)

I don't watch it anymore. Not after they called me racist for liking Call of Juarez: The Cartel. Let me straighten this out: I like it because it's fun to play with my friends, not because you can shoot Mexicans.

i still watch it and still enjoy it. As for the game addiction episodes, I felt that they were great episodes, dealing with a difficult and sensitive topic in a way that allowed him to connect with the audience. I have actually watched it several times because I feel that i can relate somewhat to it and its good to see something positive coming out of a serious problem.

No, simply because there was a gigantic decline in the quality of the episodes in the first month. And I remember getting really annoyed about how they based about three episodes on the idea that games aren't addictive.

Which is totally wrong according to the evidence. Which is when I lost respect for their opinions & stopped watching.
I like how you completely ignore the foundation of their argument and then judge the episodes in question on the basis of that ignorance.
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22026537

That took about 2 minutes to find a study showing that neural bloodflow when playing games is different when you're addicted to gaming. It's not the study I was looking for about dopamine release, but still, they seem to prove that gaming is not compulsive like Extra Credits claimed, but actually biologically addictive.

I didn't ignore their argument. I just thought it was bullshit and had no facts to back it up, and plenty of facts that pointed towards other conclusions.

Yeah I got about halfway through the first weepy James episode and I just couldn't do it. It was so boring and depressing. So I just skipped them and checked back until I saw a video with the animations again.

Since then, I've watched every single episode weekly because I still love the show. Shows like Extra Creditz along with things like TED talk are what help me keep my faith in humanity. They are optimistic in a time where pessimism seems to prevail as the dominant mindset.

The last two shows didn't have much to do with video games, but I didn't mind the turn at all. It was actually a bit refreshing to shake things up a little bit. I had been reading and discussing with my friends "trippy" science as I call it and the technological singularity was one of the topics. I was excited that EC did an episode about it.

I still watch it, one of the main reasons why I ended up making an escpaist account, after following it for quite some time (when did unforgotten realms start?)
Sad that they left, in my opionion it was a very fitting show for the escapist. But yeah I didn't expect the to stay after what happend.
Apropro my shirt from the donation came yesterday.
