Being truly eternal woud be pretty cool because you could learn everything and do anything. If you never get sick or hurt, you could try everything ever; you could jump off a building and be fine, you could learn how to fly airplanes you could solve all the world's conflicts, everything. Your only major worry would be getting captured by scientists of fired into space or jailed in the earth's core or some other form of epic imprisonment.

Congratulation, it appears that you have just won the cosmic lottery. The angel appears before you one summer morning with the most amazing prize: immortality. Eternal life, eternal youth and vigor. No wound or illness or other cruelty of man or the universe would be able to deal you any lasting harm. Like a demigod, forever and ever and ever. No tricks, no catches, no games, no secret tests of character. You don't sell your soul or anything like it. Just a gift. A cool gift, because the universe is just cool like that.
Take your time to think. You can refuse the prize, if you want. But if you do so, then that's it. The opportunity won't present itself again. It's now or never: just shake the angel's hand and immortality is yours.
Hell of a deal.(or is it?)
I would shake that angels hand pretty quickly. Immortality with no drawbacks? Can't say I'd mind at all. Sure watching one's loved one's die over and over would likely be a cause of some amount of mental torture, but I could live with that.
I have to ask was this pun intended or just a mistake but an awesome one at that?
That was a classic example of an unintended one I'm afraid. Any puns I make usually are.
Ah well it was still a good one.

The answer is yes and I believe that immortality can be achieved.
Same.

I can't fathom the aspect of never being able to think again. Or, being alive in general. I love it too much, even the bad parts of it all. Those who say it would get boring? Well... I don't believe in afterlife, so, I'd take eternal life no questions asked.
Yeah this. The thought of not being able to even think has always terrified me. It used to be the hardest question ever for me, but something is better than nothing. My only regret would be not knowing if there was anything after death, but whatever; seeing the human race develop further would be fun.

Only if I could take loved ones with me to be immortal, and if I so choose I could end my own life. Plus, you could still feel pain. Pain can sometimes be so bad that people wish to die. In that type of situation, I'd choose to pull the plug, so to speak.

I would take the eternal life if I could end it when I choose. If there was no death at all I would rather die tomorow.

I'd take eternal life in a heartbeat. No matter the drawbacks to it.

Death terrifies me.

I would take it...but I think it's because I'm too scared of dying to turn that kind of offer down.
Unlike what everyone else seems to think, I don't believe it WOULD get boring, because you'd have new opportunities for relationships, you could take your time and do ANYTHING you've ever wanted, and there's always gonna be new things, good AND bad, going on.

It wouldn't be great to see your loved ones dying around you as you carried on in your youthful manner, but you would become wise and you'd have time to grieve for them before making new relationships. You'd see your family grow and develop...you'd see new species being discovered, you'd see science and technology changing and progressing...

Hell, there's a lot of stuff that we can't even begin to imagine that will eventually happen. Who doesn't want to see armies riding on the backs of robotic-T-Rexs?
Even religious and political debates might eventually take a turn for the good! And you'd see it all...plus, eventually they'll be able to make Pokemon. Who wouldn't want to be around to go on THAT adventure?!

I'd do it! Definate yes! And when life gets too boring eventually, insanity will be my savior.

No because if an angle appeared before me then I know that heaven exists and why would I want to live forever if I know there is an eternal paradise.

You seem to be thinking massively in the short term though.
All that stuff you've just listed could theoretically happen in the next couple of thousand years maybe? Let's say for arguements sake within the next 50 thousand years.
What then though? You're immortal remember, so we're talking in the billions and trillions of years here, the human race would probably only last as long as it'd take for us to destroy ourselves/random impact event, what then? You'd be alone on a barren rock for millions of years with no other life, until the sun eventually expanded and absorbed you into it, to spend another billion years or 2 till it explodes/implodes.
What happens then i'll leave up to your imagination because i have no clue.

Nah i wouldnt take it. Theres no point in eternal life if you have knowone to share it with. I have come to terms knowing that some day i'll die and cease to exist.

Well, you'd get to see mankind destroy itself, for one thing.
You might even get to see God, if he exists...
I dunno, I guess you could dedicate your life to attempting to recreate the Big Bang, see if you can create life? Or...you could master intergalactic travel and find new life forms to teach your human values to, thus leading them to kill each other, before you gracefully move on to the next planet...

Again though, being very presumptive with the ability of just one person to construct their own space-faring ship, even if you do have all the time in the world to do it, they are after all just one person, at the mercy to the universe and its infinite apathy.
Sorry i'm probably quite biased towards this topic lol, but in my eyes there are many worse things than death, all of which you'd come across at some point if you lived forever.

Of course id want too, i mean sure ill lose everyone and go mad for maybe few billion years when the earth ends, but hey i'm eternal.
I guess my mind set will change and I wont care after a while, it's not like the people i love will suffer.
And if you lived long enough you could eventually figure out time and space and time travel =P

No, that was more sarcasm/a joke than anything. You'd eventually master everything...they reckon it takes 10,000 on a subject/practice to master a topic/skill so...you know, you could be totally awesome at everything.

Yeah, you're probably right, there undoubtedly ARE worse things than death, death is meant to be an escape from the shittiness of life...but that doesn't mean you couldn't learn to deal with it, or move past it. I guess...we'll never know :O
