I was reminded of this watching the LRR about synchronizing time. Why would people even wear these things? They look and feel as outdated as a 'cell phone' the size of a toaster.

Conclusion: Old people are the only ones who wear wrist watches.

Edit: It ate my poll, oh well.
I'm 19. I still wear a watch. Not right now, though, since I'm typing. I've had it for about two years, bought it with tax money.

Speaking of which, I miss my Taz watch. I need to get a new one.

I don't wear a watch. Not because I don't want to but because I have a sweating problem. If I wear a watch tight enough to not fall off, I sweat like crazy. I don't sweat with metal bands, but my arm hair tends to get caught in it, and my wrist is too oddly shaped to wear the ones with the solid metal bands.

I wear one. It's easier to get to while sitting down at lectures and sutch than my phone, which may or may not be under my wallet or MP3

I nearly always have one on when I'm not at home. Been using the same one for around... it should be 6 years this year! Supposedly has a ten year battery. If I still have it when it goes dead. I'll try and get the battery replaced. Even if it costs more than getting a new one. It'll just be great to have had the same watch for over a decade.

Why? Simply put, convenient. Never have to take it out and it's no real effort to be taking everywhere other than just remembering to put it on.

Also. How many times does your cellphone go dead when you're out and about? Now how many times does a watch? True this can be prevented by simply being more aware of how charged your phone is and charging regularly. But no ones perfect.

I'd be wearing mine right now, if the damn thing wasn't broken once again. It's a good watch, mind, but the "strap" consists of metal plates with small hooks to link them together, so it breaks easily. Shame, since it's a good watch and doesn't even require batteries.

Um. What?

Doesn't EVERYONE wear wrist watches? They do around my place.
Well I use to wear a wrist watch all the time until I went to college. I received a good cellphone then, I just looked at it when I needed to know the time.

I prefer Pocket Watches over wrist watches (What Can I say, I'm in love with the style. Plus, it gives me a sense of Aeon from Castlevania: Judgement) I believe most people use their electronic devices (Cell Phones, Portable games, Ect) as a source to find out what time it is.
Pretty much this, although I have no working pocket watches at the moment I did used to have 5 and I wore them all at once. Each linked up to a different button hole and each going into a different pocket.

I have a cheeky little armani wristwatch that i only ever take off to sleep. I find that it can draw quite a bit of attention, plus it's smart so when i'm meeting patients etc it gives me a more professional demeanour.

I wear one, more as an accessory than as a way to tell the time (I usually refer to my phone/iPod for that) since it's bloody difficult to tell the time when it has no numbers and is rectangular and the hands point at ambiguous angles. Still, I like it. I wear it out of habit and because it's black and sleek and makes people ask me the time. Then I have a reason to make conversation with them.

I always wear mine when I go outside, but I don't bring my cell everywhere. I feel naked without my watch when I'm outside.

Posting on page 11 where this wont see daylight but oh well.

I do actually everyday since I was ~5 unless I've misplaced my watch. In fact the one I've had for the last 6 years of so I shelled out $200 for. Solar powered and it updates every morning with the Atomic Clock in Colorado; should last me the rest of my life.
