Poll: Who would win of the Geth and the Flood

People are making this much more straightforward than it would be, assuming that decent tactics are employed. Yes, if the zerg were allowed to take over the galaxy (assuming they are intelligent enough to save some species for food) then they would vastly outnumber any Geth and win via weight of numbers.
However, you're assuming that the Geth would let the flood get that far. In reality (ha!) they would probably also attempt to wipe out sentient (organic) life in order to contain the flood numbers. Either way, sentient life is screwed.

As presented, though, the Geth can barely fight humans without Soverign's help, so they wouldn't be able to restrict the supply of hosts to the Flood. Flood still win.

The real question to ask here, of course, is who would win out of Flood and Zerg..

i think this argument's pretty much wrapped up. Geth aren't able to be infected by flood.

HOWEVER
if all sentient life in the universe was Flood-ified, and they all took control of vehicles and weapons (you know, like they do), that's a lot of numbers. trillions of organisms against a race of robots with laser guns.. the only way we can know the outcome is if it happened in real life

The Flood is us. We are a parasitic organic life form that infects everything.

The Geth are the machines and computers we built. A lot of computer parts, cars, machines, etc are built by other machines and computers.

Well, look at it this way:

The Flood can infect and control all life in the galaxy while the Geth (along with the Reapers) can anhiliate all life in the Galaxy.

When the proverbial smoke clears the Geth would be left standing and thus would be the victors.

Easy. The Flood prevail due to using their spores to convert other species into more Flood. When they can't do that, they die pretty easy to bullets as everyone who's every watched the Master Chief go is aware.

The Geth, on the other hand, are a purely mechanical race...one who come with PLENTY of bullets, and can't be converted by the Flood.

It kind of depends on the situation.

Are the Flood and Geth just tossed onto a lifeless planet to duke it out? If so, it's Geth all the way. No way Flood could even multiply.

Are we talking the Halo universe or Mass Effect universe? If so, I could see it being a much closer fight as the Flood would have tons of other races to infect. I think the Geth would eventually be overwhelmed by infected species.

Geth versus the flood makes no sense. At least the Necron are robots.

I would say Geth just because they sound like robotic crabs.

Geth are losers that a rag-tag team of heroes tore through like a hot knife through butter on a daily basis. Every other enemy in Mass Effect was harder than the Geth.

Necrons, however, are quiet possibly one of the most powerful species in the 40k galaxy. When the Imperium and the Eldar and the Tau are a bloody smear, the Necrons will be left with Chaos, Tyranids, and Orks, all of which are pretty evenly matched.

If that match up ever came up, Necrons would own the Geth any day, any time.

I think the flood because of what others have said about the rest of the galaxy being infected.

Also the flood does have a way to take control of machines so to speak. Remember 2401 Penitent Tangent from Halo 2? He was a machine but the Gravemind enslaved him and incorporated him into himself him somehow.

Also what about Mendicant Bias? The Gravemind pulled the old logic paradox on him and convinced him to switch sides in the forerunner-flood war. So if the Gravemind can pull it off on two incredibly complex A.I., what's stopping him from warping the minds of the simple minded Geth?

The geth hate everything non-geth. With a passion that only machines can have.

Well, I read your previous posts and from what i learned the Flood is not just some mindless parasite. I agree, the flood is very intelligent and don't always need a organic host to produce. But, the geth can probably mass produce more units and also have superior weaponry. In my opinion I have to say neither. It will be a endless war.

The Geth's entire goal is to annihilate all organic life. If they could mass produce units and if they were so powerful, they'd be able to kill the other races of the galaxy. They haven't yet because they can't. All the Flood needs to do to win is take over large portions of the galaxy, perhaps find a way to capture the Citadel fleet.

if there was no interference by any other species Geth obviously since they cant be infected and flood cant do anything without a host body, even with a steady suply of hosts i still think the Geth would win since they manufacture their own weapons and ships instead of scavenging from other species eventually the flood would run out of usable ships and weapons

I'm gonna go wtih Geth. The flood needs an organic lifeform to dominate in order to be much more than a easter egg with tentacles. And seeing as the Geth are synthetic lifeforms. . .not much for the flood to work with. Oh plus I think a Geth Colossus could beat the living crap out of any flood that came after it

Well seeing as so many colossuses were beat by me running up to it with my shotgun kinda makes me think that the flood tanks (pure form big bastards) could take down a colossus in sufficient numbers.

okay, that was just a lil enthusiastic.
but you have to admit, they've got unlimited lives, and a hell of a lot of centurions, baseships, other cool tech. i'd root for them over the geck or the flood anyday. just as long as they don't let the flood commandeer their ships (sneaky bastards), they would be fine.
also, just take away the tension between all the cylon models (and that slight problem with their resurrection hub XP), and i'm sure they'd give both the flood and the geck a run for their money.

somebody needs to make a game of this, like starcraft, with the 3 races idea.

I never felt threatened by the flood... my shotgun made short work of them.

I doubt a mechanical race focused on war and extermination would succumb easily to simple organisms.

(I only played the original Halo... and I still say the Geth would win)

try using that shotgun against the flood in halo 2 man, trust me, it aint easy being green!

and in halo 3 funnily enough, plasma rifles rip the flood to shreds faster than the shotty in halo 1. failing that, you can just beat them down, they fall apart in halo 3 like tissue paper.
