Ponies? Seriously?

Is it some sort of ironic hipsterism or is this something anime does to people?

1. No, trust me I thought so awhile back as well until I made a thread asking what was with all the Pony Avatars and then became one.

2. It isn't an anime.

I would have never of known about the series if it wasn't for your thread, and now I've turned into a bronie.

Ok, how many people did I turn into Bronies with that thread? I have lost track :/

It was at least 50 I think. I was member 89 and there were at least 20-30 after me. Also I joined a day after thread was posted.

Twilight sparkle, because not only is her name an oxy moron, but she is also a hypocrite. How can you be freaking magical and yet still be a skeptic which demands evidence!?!

I think the term "a fish doesn't notice the water it swims in" is appropriate. I think since magic is such a common thing in Equestiria (at least with Unicorns), has been studied, and is understood (she does say it is something Ponies are born with), anything that does fit with her idea of magic is like any time a scientist is faced with what should be traditionally "physically impossible."

I have not seen the show. I am a 20 year old man living at college sharing my dorm room with another 20 year old man. Do you have any idea what that would look like were I to start watching...that?

That you are secure enough in your sexuality to look past surface appearances and try to appreciate a show for more that what it looks like at first glance?

It's a tv show that was created for little girls drawn to brightly coloured things and the ability to practice brushing their tails.

There is nothing under the first glance except a second glance at the same thing.

I'm telling you folks, your brains, what's left of them anyway, are turning to water.

And I'm so glad I'm less intelligent than you for liking the show. Maybe I'm happier for it.

I actually tried watching an episode got about 15 minutes through, and shut it off. I really do not see the appeal here, just seems like the new carebears. I'm sure if was a kid I would enjoy it, but I really can't bring myself to sit through an entire episode.
