CoD 2 will always be my favourite and I did like MW a lot too but I hated the fact they done with MW2 and the server fiasco for the PC version.
I will not buy another CoD game again and the AC-130 / chopper killstreak perk sucks too imo. In fact, most perks suck. Why can't we just go back to no perks and just rely upon pure skill like in CoD1 and 2 ect.

MW2 represents a decline in game design quality, via many reasons I can list, but I already did list them in many other threads like this one (use the search bar by the way).

That's why I hate MW2.

A lot of other people hate it because it's the "cool thing to hate", or because they're Bad Company 2 fanboys.

I don't hate the series as a whole. The original Modern Warfare was rather fun. I still play it on PC to this day.

I really like the CoD campaigns, they're well paced and offer an excellent blend of variety, fun, and challenge.

I really dislike the CoD multiplayer (excluding co-op of course), it's poorly balanced and shallow.

So I said that I have no strong feelings either way. By the way, if I die tell my wife I said "hello." [http://www.lamesthits.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/Neutral_President.jpg]

I like it, personally, but not love. I think 80% of hate for it is just snobbery, to be honest. Especially for MW2. I'd say my favourite of the lot is WaW. The campaign was good and the online was better than MW2's or CoD4's, in my opinion, due to the better map design.

MW2's plot reminds me of Red Alert 2. You can never count that as a bad thing.

Typically, I hate Call of Duty, Modern Warfare 2 for a number of the ham handed story elements that were mentioned in Zero Punctuation (America seems to get nuked a lot lately . . .). But my greatest reason for hating MW2 is the fact that as soon as you get onto multiplayer, every other player has 30+ levels easily and has the majority of cheap gun modifications on their favorite guns. I can't remember the number of times I was killed when I had borrowed the game from a friend, by jack asses who had thermal scoped weapons when I had yet to unlock ANYTHING.
Giving me an average life span of about . . . 12 seconds.

Thought COD1 was great, UO was even better (best in series IMO). COD 2 was fun, yet felt like a step back from UO. I never played 3 long enough to get an opinion on it. COD4 was great at first, but my friends and I played it to death so i no longer like it. WaW had great SP and zombies was fun, but i hated multiplayer. MW2 is just trash in my opinion.

I was all ready to hate Black Ops, but the new MP stuff looked good, and so did singleplayer, so I'm gonna have to try it.

BTW, i voted no strong feeling, since I'm divided on the series as a whole.

Its just a game, not great not bad. An extremely average FPS with a below average story and an above average multiplayer. I don't care either way.

The only one I really liked was CoD2. I'm not mentioning the MW games because I feel indifferent about those.

It's was Modern Warfare 2 wot did it. Nukes, n00btubes, hax, IWnet, poor singleplayer and (most importantly) the implosion of Infinity Ward are the factors.

I couldn't decide. I thought CoD4 was amazing, it changed my opinion of FPS games completely. But when I tried to play MW2 my love for the series got flushed. The singleplayer was sub-par and short, and regardless of when I chose to connect, in Multiplyer I was always thrown into a match with lvl 50+ people who complained bitterly over the mic at how much I sucked. I give online games two weeks and if they don't improve then they don't get played. You know something's wrong when you're playing a game and are only looking at the clock to see when you can shut it down.

Love it. Warfare done right.
I can understand why people like Modern Warefare 2. The customization and experience systems make it approximately as addicting as crack, it's a popular game so you can play with all your friends, and the game is well polished with a fair bit of content.

That being said, it has very little to do with warefare. Arma2 is much much closer to warefare, and even then it's not terribly accurate.

So yeah, I have a problem with your statement due to a technicality.
Let me rephrase: ONLINE warfare done right. Or, competitive warfare done right. Or, 360 warfare done right! PC WARFARE DONE RIGHT! PS3 WARFARE DONE RIGHT!

I said nothing about it being realistic, just done in a fun way.

It's Modern Warfare 2 hating actually. I liked MW 1.

Do you wanna know why I hate Modern Warfare 2? Because that game is an overpriced, overproduced, overrated, overbought, overplayed, cliched, repetative and uninnovative piece of SHIT, the singleplayer of which lasts perhaps four hours.

That's why.

I really enjoyed the games, but I don't love or hate them.

As for why many people do... well, it's popular. That comes down to a lot of it. Many people are moronic sheep who gleefully hate everything popular in order to go against the flow, even though by doing so rather than forming their own opinions, they're doing exactly what they hate. Beyond that, people make fun of the fact that it has so many stupid 12-year olds playing it. It has nothing to do with the game itself, people just like hating on something based on flawed judgment.

It's released so frequently with so much of the same formula that I've just got sick and tired of it recently. Every time I look at Black-Ops I just see more of the same from the past 3 games.

It used to be great; now it just leaves me very bored very quickly.
