Because the fucking thing takes 5 minutes to find a match and ill only get spawned under a pred or some dickhead with a noob tube? The single player I enjoyed though. Who cares that it was shallow? It was fun as hell...

COD 4 was fantastic, but Modern Warfare 2 just felt like a compilation of stuff they couldn't fit into COD 4.

Plus, Russia invading the USA?! Really?!

I hate it because of what it does to my brothers when they play it. Invariably they turn into screaming shitbags who howl at the television screen until I want to peel the skin off their faces, stab their eye sockets bloody with a fork, and then toss them alive into a tank full of starving pirahnas. Honestly, whatever makes a game 'cheap' or 'gay' or 'faggy' desperately needs to be taken out of the goddamned games for the listeners' sake!

I like it, it just seems that people complain too much for no reason, but people have their own opinion on things, and I respect that

Is there some massive group out there who don't understand how this "opinion" thing actually works? Why the hell do we keep seeing these threads? the ones where a fan of something says "omg why dos sum ppl not like da same tings I do?!?1?!/!!?!".

Get.

Fucking.

Over.

It.
THANK YOU!
No disrespect to the OP but I swear people need to stop caring that people have different preferences.

OT:
I love Call of Duty, specifically MW1 & MW2. The gameplay is top-notch (I dare you to find a smoother shooter), the audiovisual presentation is beautiful, the story is entertaining, and the missions generally have some excellent design elements (Say what you want about MW2, the EMP level was fucking brilliant).

Love it! 1, 2 and 3 were average (but then I have no interest whatsoever in WW2 - old war is old...) but from 4 onwards I've been a MASSIVE fan. MW2 has taken up over half a month of solid game time since it came out and it looks like Black Ops will do the same! After the multiplayer reveal yesterday, my shit was officially lost!

I can understand the hate of short single player campaigns, but then these are games where the multiplayer really shines. If you're not into competitive online then you won't like it, simple as that.

Had lots of fun with CoD 1 back in the day. (EDIT: Unfortunately this game is near unplayable on a big monitor and Win7)
CoD 2 is still one of the greatest fps games today in my opinion, and probably the best WW2 fps.
Never played CoD 3.
Couldn't enjoy Modern Warfare, as for every missions I enjoy there are two which just pissed me off.
Currently playing WaW and having a good time with it.
Never played MW2, but expect it to be like MW and so not my cup of tea.

All that is speaking as a guy who plays singleplayer. The MP has no interest for me.

Am I the only person that really enjoyed the (MW2) single player campaign? The mission where you have to extract a data pad-thing from that house in the woods really sold it to me, and the ending of that sequence remains one of my favourite single player moments.

Not coughing up 60 dollars for AC-130 spam, a 1-hour campaign mode, and IWNet which, after the free weekend, I have decided is almost as terrible a networking program as Gamespy.

Seeing as every game released around the same exact time as it was has already lowered in price, I don't understand why they're still charging the full pop for it.

The first one, however was pretty good. I don't completely regret spending $40 on that.

Let me explain what I hate about the game (MW2), the multiplayer is a broken glitchy mess that obviously never saw play testing of any kind, the community seems to be largely made of moronic high school dropouts with no grasp of the English language, and the game has no plot and thinks a lot of explosions can cover up that inadequacy! (So pretty much I hate everything but the gameplay and controls)

I like it a lot, if I owned an xbox I would definitely have bought it. I enjoy the customisation and the K/D ratio, although I think I am the only one who likes the latter.

Edit: Also I never played the earlier ones so who knows maybe the ruined an even better thing.

Cause it abandoned good gameplay in the third game which set me off it forever. The story modes never have strong replay value(in the new ones)

I believe all the COD hating is balancing all the COD loving. Like, in every topic.

You're seeing a lot of COD hating because the haters of anything are always more vocal than the lovers.

Lovers are too busy enjoying it to comment on it.

EDIT: Plus there's not really much of a need to defend a game that millions of people are playing.

I really, really loved the series... up until Call of Duty 4. Some people may have started playing it online and called it "deep" and "addicting", while I started playing online, and encountered campers, noob-tubers, knifers, quick-scopers, and controller modders, then I turned the game off and played something that didn't piss me off whatsoever. I'm still gonna keep buying Call of Duty games though, just out of loyalty for the series, since it's the series hat got me into WWII games and military history.

In conclusion: I'm basically at a point where I'm trying to love it and give it a hug, but it keeps slapping me and telling me to go do something else.
