For a great movie that has a Cat and Dog working together I would suggest none other than:
I used to love that movie when I was little. I watched every time I went to see my grandma. Then my mom told me I wasn't allowed to watch it any more because killed the puppies and kittens in it.
Apparently it's unconfirmed as to whether they did or not but the credits don't say that no animals were harmed in the making of this film. Rumours say that up to 27 kittens were killed in the making and such.
I still feel a bit sick when I think of this film though.
On topic I think it's just because dogs are generally so happy and eager to please whereas cats kind of do their own thing. Obviously there's differences between breeds and things, but stereotypes will be stereotypes. I've had both a cat and a dog growing up. Our cat was pretty evil. Had her longer than the dog and when the dog was a little puppy she liked to hide around corners and frighten it. It was pretty hilarious. The dog used to follow us around every where we went in the house so it wasn't like it was hard to anticipate her coming. She got really weary of the cat, always moving slowly near where the cat could surprise her. Even after the cat got old and died she was still cautious for ages afterwards. When a friend bought her new kitten around the dog (now fully grown) was scared of it (even though the kitten was tiny).
Maybe it was the case of the cat being older and more cunning was making it known that it was her house and she was boss or maybe it was that my cat, at least, was evil and sneaky and enjoyed tormenting dogs.
