Poll: Why do players in RDR firmly expect to not be attacked while doing challenges?

Sorry all the so called complaining deeming those doing it as "griefers" is killing me. I can't say the "p" word so I'll just said again, Stop being wimps!

Stop it! Stop being wimps! If they shoot you or are constantly trying to kill you then kill them! Fight back! Stop expecting big brother to help you! Ha omg. Kill them!
Stop being wimps! You can't have griefers in a western sand box pvp area!

Ha come on people. Stop being wimps!
Why do I get the feeling you like to follow people constantly harassing them? I'm not saying you do, but you come across as a person who does.

Because the point of free roam is to do the hunting missions, gang hideouts, etc? If you wanna go around killing everything then play the competative MP, simple as that. It's starting to really suck having to stick to private matches just to avoid being gunned some by some ass for 50th time while attempting to raid a gang hideout or whatever.

The point of free roam is kind of implied in the title it's not a frigging death match! If you want that, start one up. I'm sick of getting on free roam going to a town or something then getting shot by some twat who thinks he's a badass. I should have known the multiplayer would be spoiled by nobs, it's the same on GTA4.

I really really don't. I just hate when grown men act like wimps over this.

The first time I did Free Roam, there was no-one else in the game. I couldn't find anyone in Quick Match either. Is it just me, or is PSN usually so deserted?

Whenever I play online there are at best 4 other people in Free Roam so I don't have to worry to much about getting jumped. What does piss me off is when I'm riding with someone in a posse, we shoot up a few gang hide-outs together and then he suddenly shoots me in the back and steals me horse.
I'll just quote someone else as a response:

The solution is simple.

If your the kind of person who is sensitive, can't handle pvp, can't handle a game based around an aggressive way of life, and probably a wimp.

Make a private room! Solved!

I can care less if someone tries to jump in on me when I am doing something because I am not a wimp and will fight back! Ha

If the people hate getting attacked, then why not just do Private Free Roam?
I only have one other person on my friends list that even has this game, why should I handicap my game experience because other people are douches?

Enough with the "stop being wimps" already. We get it. You feel that if someone doesn't follow the same opinions as you, it's grounds to flame them. I know it may sound hard to believe, but there are people who play these types of games just to goof off and cause problems for others. The solution for bullying isn't to bully back and toughen up.
I remember an old PC game a years back that if you hadn't started playing the day it came out, you couldn't even play it at all. It would be the equivalent today of high level players in WoW killing off level 1 characters at their spawn points.

Same here.

It seems like there's nobody online most of the time. Maybe it's my connection or something, but the multi-player is making me feel like a poor lonesome cowboy.

Given, that makes slowly riding towards the sunset just the more atmospheric. Gods I love this game...

I play on PvP servers whenever I have the chance, I prefer killing PCs rather than NPCs.
Of course you're going to get ambushed, it's what people do.

Just ambush them first.

This.

More fun this way. You both shoot up a hide out then the fist one to shoot the other guy in the back gets the loot.

Why on earth would you be such a wimp to expect a safety net in a multiplayer game? Personally, I say yes. I expect to get jumped and will deal with it. It makes it more fun.
Because if they want to deathmatch, then go join a death-match game.
I use Free-roam to farm challenges so that I can level up. I'd rather just do that, then have to worry about a group of guys riding in and shooting me when I'm just about to finally get that last deer or something I need to kill. If you just want to kill people, there are many modes for that.

But these guys aren't doing it to just 'get some kills', they are doing it to cheese people off. They go out, get the best guns right away from around the map (Easy to find, too), and then go hunt everyone else just to annoy them. Then the problem isn't that they are killing people in Free Roam, then the problem is that they are dicks. They aren't trying to level up (Since killing players in Free Roam gets you next to no XP compared to the hide-out challenges), they aren't trying to complete challenges...they are just trying to be dicks.

The reason, by the way, that I don't start a private room, is because I've actually met some normal people on Free Roam. I ran into this one guy who was in the middle of a hide-out challenge, and I helped him out. The two of us cleared it in no time, we both got XP, and we parted. And we both got a pile of XP!

I've also been in the middle of a hide-out challenge, and some guy ran up behind me, shot me in the back, and ran off. What was the point? I was fighting off NPCs, clearing a hide-out, and he just shot me in the back. He didn't get anything for it (If he helped me, he would have got a bunch of XP), so what other reason could there be? He just wanted to be a dick.

And that's annoying.

But what if they dont want to, whta if what they want to do is play alongside other people, at beating the game raher than each other.

Deathmatch is for people who want to spend all their time killing PCs, other modes that are there to give people other things to do.

There is no response for me here other than pie. I don't think they're wimps, since they just want to do co-op with friends. But I don't think it's something to whine about, but to get irritated, kill them, and resume what they were doing in the first place.
