Most of the game I haven't completed are because it was TOO good, so I didn't want to finish it too fast.

I usually stop playing because either the game is too boring or it just isn't what I expected it to be.

I just have too many games to play, and too little time.
Then buy less games and play them till the end, instead of buying all those games and not playing them through?
But then I don't have all the games I want to have.
But why do you want all those games, and why do you want them instantly? They're not going away, and if you wait a couple of months they might even drop in price... It's obvious you can't play them all at once...

Always because I buy something else that takes my attention. Once I got my 360, I stopped my run of FFXII. I was so far in too... I should get back to it one day. I usually get back to everything eventually. (usually.....)

After around half the game, or even less than that, the game stops being fun for me. That's why I believe that good stories are important, so I have some motivation to finish.

Not playing a game beacause it was to hard was more of a problem with my PS2 games when I was just starting to play video games. Now I stop playing games because I don't beat a mission the 1st or 2nd time, and I know I could, but I just don't care enough.

Really it could be for any of those reasons. Usually it's either because the game just isn't very good or because I got something better.

most of the time im doubling up on games to finish and one just gets more attention then the other or online play gets addicting and i forget about the actual game.both scenarios are happening to me right now with saints row 2 and metal gear solid 4

Monkey Island 4.
If you have to ask, you havent played it.

It has something to do with it not being point and click.

occasionally it has to do with some sort of monster I can't defeat and cba to google (that's my reason for castlevania: curse of darkness, at least). Often times I just hate the game (see: entire goddamn Final Fantasy series), but I think it's mostly because I don't game a lot and still get new games often, and I just forget about my older games because I like the new ones better. I have had Splinter Cell 2 for maybe 3 years now, and I've only gotten through 2/3rds of it for that reason.. well, that and a glitch..

The game was boring and my abundance of games i prefer to play over it are too tempting to resist..

That or i hire games and i have to do school work until the game is due and never bother to rehire the game.

If I don't complete a game it's usually beacause it's getting repetative and I'm stuck at an annoying boss. If the boss beats me a few times and I come to the conclusion I don't really bother for the rest of the game I quit. Sometimes I continue (a few days or even a few years) later but usually that game will end up on the shelf and stay there.

All of the poll options except "Was told the end sucked" have returned true for all of the games I've stopped playing.

Some had only one of the reasons to stop, and a select few had almost all of them.

Most of the time it's because I couldn't get past a certain point. For example in FFX I was stuck on the battle with Seymour on Mount Gagazet(?) for about three years. I finally managed to beat it, and now I'm stuck on the Yunalesca battle.
