Because I get bored. Which I get with pretty much every game I play. I usually come back later and finishes it.

The only game I never finished was Jak & Daxter because it seemed boring to me (well, in the very beginning of the game.)

All the above except the whole "someone said it sucks" since I will rent a game after being told it sucks by the majority of the net and still beat it. Gotta experience the crap for yourself I always say. It is usually a combination of more than 1 reason listed though.

Either I'm stuck on a section and just get frustrated when I pick it up, I'm lost, or it just stopped being fun. Such as... in Prey, I'm stuck on this one section where there's a broken bride and you have to go spirit mode or whatever to get across but once you get to the other side, you can't do anything to get your human body across. Then I realized that I had already done this puzzle about a million times and the game was just a series of boring puzzles that I really didn't enjoy doing so I just stopped playing it. Situations like that and situations like in Resident Evil 5, I am on the very last boss of the game but I can't find anyone to play it with and Sheva is so monumentally idiotic that I just can't do it by myself. I just get frustrated every time I try to play it, and games weren't meant to make you frustrated.

Either it doesn't run well on my PC or I just get bored cause after an hour it's hasn't really given me a reason to keep playing.

Usually because I go on vacation, and I forget where I was and lose most of my skills, and I either never go back or just start again.

Last Remnant. I tried, I swear I tried, but...I just can't bring myself to play it again. Not even worth trading in now, but still. It's not even a bad game, I just can't talk myself into doing it. >_<

I love my games, they make me grin, but I work too much and playing a game through a second time with my schedule is really hard to do. Hell, even finishing a game I haven't played through once yet is becoming like pulling teeth. I hope I won't have spent 3 weeks playing Assassin's Creed only for the ending to be as bad as everyone's saying it is.

Often I'll start playing a game, get into it, but due to other distractions, be it work or even social reasons, I'll not get to play it again for a few days. It's hard to get immersed in a game when you're playing it in such a stop-start way.

This is happening for me with Metal Gear Solid 4. It's clearly a quality game, but since I bought it I've been pretty busy, and it's not the kind of game that lends itself to the stop-start style of play I mentioned. Especially with all the epic cutscenes and long-winded storyline. Fuck, sometimes I just wanna play Tetris.

I tend to get stuck on a game, leave it, then plan to come back to it later but get sidetracked by another game.
I usually end up completing the game at some point, but, yeah.

Just this minute put down the Force Unleashed at the Star Destroyer. I have every intention of trading it tomorrow. I could just about put up with the glitches and having to start areas again. I really enjoyed the story and the game was just the right side of OK. However, when I get told I have to bring down said Star Destroyer with the Force and it turns out to be one of the single most boring game experiences of my gaming life...Well, that's just unforgivable. I should have been on the edge of my fucking seat trying to bring the twat down. I should have seen some indication that I was being fucking EPIC. Instead I repeated the same moves over & over & over & over. That is just piss poor.

I get bored easily. I never used to be this way, I used to rabidly complete every game I bought, but nowadays I seem to tire quickly. I guess my computer playing days are drawing to a close... now what am I going to do? Take up bible studies? I'm an atheist for Gods sake! [/hypocritical humour]

Most of the time it's because I couldn't get past a certain point. For example in FFX I was stuck on the battle with Seymour on Mount Gagazet(?) for about three years. I finally managed to beat it, and now I'm stuck on the Yunalesca battle.
You can beat that bosses instant kill attack by making sure that you don't have a uniformly zombie or living team. If you get death cast on you, the zombies survive. If you get life cast on you, the living survive. So the key is to be prepared for either scenario. Wakka's zombie attack can help if you're stuck with this, while you should have plenty of holy water (If not, kill one of your zombie infected and revive him/her. He/she'll have returned to normal.

Beyond that, you may have some levelling to do if you still can't win. If your characters can't take the heat, level them up till they can. But if you managed to beat the frankly nightmarish boss right before Yunalesca then good tactics should see her meet an early grave. If I remember her other attacks don't do that much damage. Nothing a phoenix down can't clean up anyway.

When I get so far into a game for example in a RPG when I have to spend loads of times grinding then I just think fuck it and go play something that I can play through and then go back to the other game...and still not complete it...I have no concentration for things i'm impatient.
