Ha, the only multi-plat not coming to the PS3 is Xcom, which I don't think is a bad thing. Also Disgea 4, Do Want.
I think XCOM will be like Bioshock, It will have a belated PS3 release with all the DLC bundled in.

It's made by the "B-Team" who helped with development of Bioshock, mainly console ports.

But either way I'd consider something like XCOM a PC game anyway, so PS3/360 versions are quire irrelevant to me.
The game looks very average (as in buying used when it only costs $15 dollars average.) especially how the main enemy looks like sentient chewing tobacco.
I don't think it's even going to come out this year, it's so crowded for shooters already which are not going to budge (many already delayed from 2010) and we have seen SO LITTLE we still don't have any idea what the game is actually about beyond, as you say, sentient chewing tobacco.

They haven't set a date, 2K games already has Duke Nukem this year and it's certainly not beyond them to push things back a bit. One thing they seem to do often is a January/February release, in fact the same studio 2K Marin only released Bioshock 2 in Feb 2010, that does not leave them a lot of time to finish a game.

Then again, XCOM would end up clashing with Bioshock Infinite in 2012. Naaaahh-grrr, it'll probably be crap, definitely no where near as good as Bioshock Infinite but it might have some good stuff anyway...

Really I hope XCOM is 2012 as I stupidly hold by the theory that there are only 24 games worth getting for PC every year (that's full price, not $10 DLC titles), no more, no less, and XCOM doesn't fit! And my 2011 list is already full and I can't find a place to slot XCOM in.

By "worth getting" I mean if I were to rank all the games the 25th game probably isn't worth playing let alone buying. I have to draw the line somewhere as I only have so much time and 1 PC game every 2-weeks I can afford that in both money, and time to actually play it.

*My face when I realise JUST NOW there are actually 26 fortnights in a year*

I have OCD... real bad. I need to make some adjustments to my to-buy/have-bought list.

Ever heard the "PS3 has no gaemz" meme?

It's practically become a punchline on 4chan (I really must stop going on 4chan) but it's usually subverted and used in an ironic way.

I think the meme/reputation came about as people were pissed at PS3's launch price and looking for justification IMMEDIATELY after launch there was a lack of games while 360 had a lot of dodgy games that were little more than the PS2/Xbox1 version with a slightly higher poly-count.

But I think it really stuck when you had several high profile games skipped PS3 (bioshock, Supreme Commander, Tomb Raider, Lost Planet) for a short time as it was actually a problem developing-for/porting-to PS3, the tech was very new and there needed to be a lot of coding done on Dev-Kits, which were expensive and in short supply.

Thing is every year PS3 has consistently had 2-3x more exclusives than Xbox 360.

Take 2007, when 360 had Forza 2, Halo 3 and Crackdown, PS3 had:
-Folklore
-Heavenly Sword
-Ninja Gaiden Sigma
-Resistance: Fall of Man
-Motorstorm
-Uncharted: Drake?s Fortune
-R&C: Tools of Destruction
-Super Stardust HD
-WarHawk

Also, remember WAY back then PS3 had terrible marketing/PR department, they couldn't sell ice cream on a hot day.

I know :p in fact the PS3 is my console of choice. Was just pointing out the irony in all of this.

Yeah, but back then the PS3 multiplatform games looked significantly worse compared to the 360 versions. So there was that too.

I got both systems, but the 360 is getting more and more redundant for me as time goes on. The only reason I'm not getting rid of it is because sometimes I feel like playing The Orange Box, and for Mass Effect 3.

Fingers crossed that The Last Guardian will make this year's release.

I think it all comes down to personal preference, i bet theres plenty of people like me who didnt even consider buying an Xbox, i was ps1 then ps2 the next step was a no brainer really! Even if the Xbox was better i'd still be using a ps3.

Let me begin by saying that I love my Xbox360. She's been with me since 2005 and has successfully survived like 5 moves. She's been a great friend when I need entertainment. Microsoft has totally stepped it up over the last few years in the way that they've improved the whole Xbox experience. I dig last.fm and netflix the most. I love that I can use my console for more things than just gaming.

But, therein lies the problem. i bet that 80% of my time spent on the Xbox is spent doing things other than gaming! I'm watching movies, listening to tunes, surfing the Zune store. So, why am I not playing games? QUALITY OF THE GAMES IS THE ANSWER! Compared to some titles i've seen for PS3 my old girl seems shabby and worn out. The folks from Sony definitely put out some beautiful stuff.

Case-in-Point :

Final Fantasy XIII

Little Big Planet 2

Uncharted 2

......the list could go on and on.

It almost seems that since Halo was released the Xbox guys have found themselves without a really compelling title that is Xbox only.

Am I alone????
Wanna know the funny thing? I have owned a PS3 since launch and I haven't owned most of the exclusives for it. I have had god of war, MGS, motor storm and mod nation racers.

The others just don't interest me in the least, heavy rain = movie with gameplay elements, Infamous = assassins creed + eletricity, deamon's souls = stand out 'cos it's hard ... really?, uncharted = tomb raider as the opposite sex, LBP = a throw back to pre 3D (why not just play old Mario's? You must be able to make levels for them now).

I am not too bothered though, non of the 360 exclusives do it for me either.

I checked out FFXIII for Xbox but was disappointed when comparing it to the graphics and presentation on PS3.
I couldn't tell the difference between graphics.
If you find some comparison screenshots the 360 actually does look slightly better. Not that you would likely notice without the side by side comparison.

I've got my trusty PS Triple, but there are some Xbox exclusives that I wish I could play. Cases in point: The first Mass Effect, Rez HD (which should've been put on PSN already), Dust: An Elysian Tail, Infinite Undiscovery, and a certain series about being a pretty cool guy who kills aleins and not afraid of anything.

But what's the point in having both when (most of) the best games are multi-platform anyway?

My spidey sense says The Last Guardian probably won't come out this year. I mean 2011 is TOO packed for PS3, almost every other title has a confirmed release date but not TLG. What's likely is E3 2011 they'll demo gameplay and announce to release in Q1 2012 (same slot as Killzone 2 + 3 also God of War 3) with the Team Ico collection out for Christmas to whip up interest.

Yeah, shame about Orange Box, did you see that interview with Gabe Newall (Valve Boss) on PS3 back in say 2008? He tore it apart, yet E3 2010 there he is up on stage announcing Steamworks for PS3 and his total commitment to the platform. Microsoft would never allow that on their Xbox, as I think they love how unlike Windows they have absolute control over that marketplace.

Trust me. Steam has been VERY GOOD for me on PC, wow, I can't wait to link up my PS3 and PC (though I still think I'll get all my games on PC if I can)

What really swung it for me to favour PS3 was in 2008 when I actually got back into PC gaming, all of a sudden PS3-vs-360 multi-plat performance/library became irrelevant as PC pwned with everything, all that was left was console exclusives which is where 360 fell very short, actually about level pegging with Wii! (by my assessment at least)

I LOVE my xbox for everything about the actual console itself but with bioware now on both systems I have to agree with you. Though my list is more like Infamous, God of War and Demon's Souls.
DEMON'S SOULS!!! But yeah, the main reason I dont have a 360 is that I cant justify dropping several hundred for a few titles.... And that it lacks the virtual console that has allowed me to play some PS games that I missed out on... The only reason I would probably get an Xbox is to play Jet Set Radio Future which I have heard good things about, along with that title from the Tales series that has likewise had good reviews that I have heard.

It's all a matter of which genre you like most when choosing which platform is best. People who pretend to care about RTS use a PC. 360 has every modern shoot em up thanks to the support of Cave and G.Rev. The Wii has the only good 3D platformer series currently. The PS3 has a great support for console SRPGs like those from Nippon Ichi as well as games that make you sad lol.

For people who will accept any random genre and don't care about getting the best performance out of any game, any of the above will do.

Please do not give me that, you know damn well what I'm saying, and you're trying to pick a fight here. Regardless of what games you will list off, I'm just not that interested in them as I'm perfectly content with the PS3's current lineup. You enjoy your Lost Oddessy and Senko No Ronde, I'll enjoy my LittleBigPlanet and Demon's Souls.

I know what you mean. That's why I got my PS3 instead of a 360. PS3 exclusives are great, though I love the things you can do with a 360.

But c'mon, just look at what's coming out for PS3 this year:

Ha, the only multi-plat not coming to the PS3 is Xcom, which I don't think is a bad thing. Also Disgea 4, Do Want.
but is coming on PC, and I have both PC and PS3 so as that list shows I'm covered for every game I could ever want ;)
