I don't think it's even going to come out this year, it's so crowded for shooters already which are not going to budge (many already delayed from 2010) and we have seen SO LITTLE we still don't have any idea what the game is actually about beyond, as you say, sentient chewing tobacco.darkstone said:The game looks very average (as in buying used when it only costs $15 dollars average.) especially how the main enemy looks like sentient chewing tobacco.Treblaine said:I think XCOM will be like Bioshock, It will have a belated PS3 release with all the DLC bundled in.darkstone said:Ha, the only multi-plat not coming to the PS3 is Xcom, which I don't think is a bad thing. Also Disgea 4, Do Want.
It's made by the "B-Team" who helped with development of Bioshock, mainly console ports.
But either way I'd consider something like XCOM a PC game anyway, so PS3/360 versions are quire irrelevant to me.
Ever heard the "PS3 has no gaemz" meme?tris4992 said:wow the PS3 really managed to turn the table's on the Xbow360 huh![]()
I remember the biggest flaw to the PS3 being its small games library

It's practically become a punchline on 4chan (I really must stop going on 4chan) but it's usually subverted and used in an ironic way.
I think the meme/reputation came about as people were pissed at PS3's launch price and looking for justification IMMEDIATELY after launch there was a lack of games while 360 had a lot of dodgy games that were little more than the PS2/Xbox1 version with a slightly higher poly-count.
But I think it really stuck when you had several high profile games skipped PS3 (bioshock, Supreme Commander, Tomb Raider, Lost Planet) for a short time as it was actually a problem developing-for/porting-to PS3, the tech was very new and there needed to be a lot of coding done on Dev-Kits, which were expensive and in short supply.
Thing is every year PS3 has consistently had 2-3x more exclusives than Xbox 360.
Take 2007, when 360 had Forza 2, Halo 3 and Crackdown, PS3 had:
-Folklore
-Heavenly Sword
-Ninja Gaiden Sigma
-Resistance: Fall of Man
-Motorstorm
-Uncharted: Drake?s Fortune
-R&C: Tools of Destruction
-Super Stardust HD
-WarHawk
Also, remember WAY back then PS3 had terrible marketing/PR department, they couldn't sell ice cream on a hot day.
Yeah, but back then the PS3 multiplatform games looked significantly worse compared to the 360 versions. So there was that too.Treblaine said:Thing is every year PS3 has consistently had 2-3x more exclusives than Xbox 360.

Wanna know the funny thing? I have owned a PS3 since launch and I haven't owned most of the exclusives for it. I have had god of war, MGS, motor storm and mod nation racers.rockymedure said:Let me begin by saying that I love my Xbox360. She's been with me since 2005 and has successfully survived like 5 moves. She's been a great friend when I need entertainment. Microsoft has totally stepped it up over the last few years in the way that they've improved the whole Xbox experience. I dig last.fm and netflix the most. I love that I can use my console for more things than just gaming.
But, therein lies the problem. i bet that 80% of my time spent on the Xbox is spent doing things other than gaming! I'm watching movies, listening to tunes, surfing the Zune store. So, why am I not playing games? QUALITY OF THE GAMES IS THE ANSWER! Compared to some titles i've seen for PS3 my old girl seems shabby and worn out. The folks from Sony definitely put out some beautiful stuff.
Case-in-Point :
Final Fantasy XIII
Little Big Planet 2
Uncharted 2
......the list could go on and on.
It almost seems that since Halo was released the Xbox guys have found themselves without a really compelling title that is Xbox only.
Am I alone????
If you find some comparison screenshots the 360 actually does look slightly better. Not that you would likely notice without the side by side comparison.Palademon said:I couldn't tell the difference between graphics.rockymedure said:I checked out FFXIII for Xbox but was disappointed when comparing it to the graphics and presentation on PS3.
My spidey sense says The Last Guardian probably won't come out this year. I mean 2011 is TOO packed for PS3, almost every other title has a confirmed release date but not TLG. What's likely is E3 2011 they'll demo gameplay and announce to release in Q1 2012 (same slot as Killzone 2 + 3 also God of War 3) with the Team Ico collection out for Christmas to whip up interest.Casual Shinji said:Yeah, but back then the PS3 multiplatform games looked significantly worse compared to the 360 versions. I got both systems, but the 360 is getting more and more redundant for me as time goes on. The only reason I'm not getting rid of it is because sometimes I feel like playing The Orange Box, and for Mass Effect 3.
Fingers crossed that The Last Guardian will make this year's release.
DEMON'S SOULS!!! But yeah, the main reason I dont have a 360 is that I cant justify dropping several hundred for a few titles.... And that it lacks the virtual console that has allowed me to play some PS games that I missed out on... The only reason I would probably get an Xbox is to play Jet Set Radio Future which I have heard good things about, along with that title from the Tales series that has likewise had good reviews that I have heard.matrix73 said:I LOVE my xbox for everything about the actual console itself but with bioware now on both systems I have to agree with you. Though my list is more like Infamous, God of War and Demon's Souls.

Please do not give me that, you know damn well what I'm saying, and you're trying to pick a fight here. Regardless of what games you will list off, I'm just not that interested in them as I'm perfectly content with the PS3's current lineup. You enjoy your Lost Oddessy and Senko No Ronde, I'll enjoy my LittleBigPlanet and Demon's Souls.Halo Fanboy said:Lost Oddessy looks the same as Senko No Ronde looks the same as Dead or Alive 4 looks the same as Fable 2 looks the same as Gears of War 2 looks the same as Deathsmiles?Jumplion said:and their exclusives just look the same to me
but is coming on PC, and I have both PC and PS3 so as that list shows I'm covered for every game I could ever wantdarkstone said:Ha, the only multi-plat not coming to the PS3 is Xcom, which I don't think is a bad thing. But c'mon, just look at what's coming out for PS3 this year:
