Poll: Why is it only on 4chan that I ever see anyone call Skyrim outright shit.

You see it other places as well. Even on this site, you'll see people bashing the game almost as much as people praising it. It happens with a lot of popular games: since it spends so much time under general scrutiny, its flaws become more noticeable, particularly for people who disliked the game in the first place.

The reason you're seeing so much of it on 4chan is that 4chan hates absolutely everything that is not chocolate milk.

Im fairly sure if I made a chocolate milk thread on /v/ theyd hate on it.

Okay, I loved skyrim. Honestly would have considered it my game of the year but Dark Souls exists.
But I find some rather strange trend on the internet, everywhere people praise it but on 4Chan, and other related chans, its considered casual shit.
Does anyone have a theory on why? Also what did you think of the game.

Man, there was a ton of "Am I the only one who doesn't like Skyrim?' threads on the Escapist in November and December. Also, there's a massive amount of hate for it on some parts of the Something Awful forums, a lot of 'hardcore' fans of RPGs complain about it, mostly due to the terrible writing (I enjoyed Skyrim but come on Bethesda's writing has almost universally been awful) and the inability to role play.

Personally, I don't think Skyrim is absolute shit.

I don't think it's the holy grail of gaming either, and it DEFINITELY does not deserve about 75% of the fanboy praise that is heaped upon it. But is it a fun way to kill some time? Yes.

But the problem with what you experienced is it's 4chan. It's like a troll den. Start a thread that says "I think ________ is great and wonderful!" and I guarantee you within 3 posts you will have someone ridicule, bash, and piss all over whatever filled in the blank.
