No, I love Metroid and all but I didn't like the control scheme of Prime 3, in general I don't like motion controls and after Other M I don't know where the series is going in terms of quality.

Two screen gameplay is just dumb, it never made sense so I have no motivation by the bizarre controller.

So far there are only two games I need to have: Rayman Legends and Bayonetta 2. I'll just wait to see the next Zelda before I get one.

Nope! I haven't touched my Wii in years. It gets to watch me play my 360. I kind of feel bad for the poor thing.

So to sum up some of the other criticisms of the wii u. The Wii ended up being disappointing, so therefore this system sucks too, even though they're completely different systems, and that it seems to have at least decent third party support coming out of the gate.

After some more games and a price drop, I will seriously consider it. Until then, no, I will not get one.

Because true gamers will go anywhere to get their game on and will not discriminate against systems and game genres(though some discrimination is acceptable, and that would be against Zynga).

You see, I'm the gamer that grew up with both a PC and a Console, so I'm a neutral intermediary that tries to keep the waring families from slitting each others throats.

----------------------------------

It will be awhile before I get one, but I will, since I've purchased every new Nintendo system eventually. Except for the 3DS, still haven't got around to that one.

I will be after I get myself a better PC though, cause my PC is nearing four years old and it wasn't meant to play games anyway.

Until I get a WiiU, I have:

PC for: LotRO, Star Trek Online, FTL, Minecraft, Terraria, Psychonauts and Medieval 2: Total War, Star Trek Armada 1 and 2, both KotORs.
Xbox 360 for: Halo 4 and my back log of 35 other games.
Wii for: Mario and Zelda, and my backlog of Gamecube titles, and some virtual console games.
DS Lite for: Pokemon games and Advanced Wars, with my backlog of Gameboy Advance games.
PSP for: Ape Escape, Final Fantasy I and II
Two Gameboy colors(was a person who didn't have friends that played Pokemon games back in the day).
Still have the old grey brick Gameboy(of course it still works).
N64, SNES, NES.
Retron 3(A third party system that plays, SNES, NES, and Sega Genesis games).

So, as you can see, I can wait. Being a person who doesn't sell his game collections or systems, helps during the times when I don't have the funds to add something fresh to my collection.

I'm keen for one, but given that I'm broke and it'd cost me upwards of a thousand dollars for the cnosole and a decent few games for it I'm definitely out for at least a while. Plus I'm not much of a bleeding edge type person. I only just got an xbox 360 in '09 and have about 10-15 games for it.
Welcome to the Escapist!

And if I may ask, where do you live that it would cost upwards of 1000 dollars to get the system and a few games?

I'm going to guess one of the smaller European countries, cause they have crazy inflated prices. If I were to get a Wii U bundle with two games, and then two more games, I'm looking at probably around 525 dollars or so.

I got one last Thursday (UK) and am enjoying it. To the extent that I've already racked up more hours on it than I have the Vita which I got back in August. (Most of which being on Nintendoland)

If the Nintendo Gamepad gimmick allows me to sit and play on a console game in bed while also watching TV or playing a blu-ray then I'm all for it.

The games have been hit and miss for me. Miss being Zombiu. Which isn't THAT bad (still more fun than Resi 6 was.) and some of the Nintendoland Attractions (F-Zero, Octopus Dance.) LOVING Miiverse tho. It's just so simple and most of the time you can tell it's genuine Nintendo fans on there. Unlike just about every other forum which is half full of people who act like Mario came to their room at night and touched them.

Most of the negatives I kinda feel have been overdone however. I remember having to do some long updates on my PS3. And the pop up on Orochi 3 is no worse than the PS3 version's too. (load times are way better aswell.

I just hope we continue to get some good games and especially third party support. The big games for me next year are Tomb Raider, South Park and One Piece Musou 2. So would love to see at least two of them on there. Not to mention Scribblenauts, Monster HUnter, Wonderful 101, Pikmin 3, Bayonetta 2 and Rayman. (Even liked the look of that Lego GTA game. Hell I actually enjoyed it more than what I've seen of GTA V so far.)

No, but that's because I don't play on consoles. I play on PC, and dropping a couple of hundred on a console isn't worth the money when I could put that money into getting more games, or even better future proofing my PC.

If I were to get a console it is the one I would get, as it isn't just a cheap imitation PC like the Xbox and PS3 are, but it actually offers something my PC doesn't yet do [Touchscreen controls], though if the WiiU gains popularity thanks to it there will doubtlessly be peripherals created for that purpose eventually, and then games that enable their use.

Yes, it's the only console that has games that I am intrested in that my PC wont be getting. Any of the other two consoles are and will be just underpowered and restrictive PC's

Does anyone ever stop and wonder if Yahtzee was being a tad sarcastic when he coined that phrase? And that it refers to egotistical PC gamers with a superiority complex, not to any one source of gaming being any better?

Knowing me, I'll probably eventually get one. If it is backwards compatible with Wii games, I'll probably get one sooner than later.

Most probably, yeah. It sounds actually quite interesting, also the Wii had the most interesting exclusives for me in the last gen.

A big + for me is actually the controller. I don't own a decent TV and playing console games on the controller sounds like a good solution.

So by a handheld.Much cheaper and wile they wont have the games you want you can send a message to nintendo by not buying there crappy system because of its dumb gimmicks.
If I want handheld quality of games I buy a handheld. But since I liked the library of the Wii more than the other two I am sure I'm going to like the library on the Wii U as well.

And just to spell it out to you:

I
like
the
'gimmick'
of
the
Wii U.

Harsh, eh? I won't buy their system because I want power from my gaming machine - I have the PC for that - but for games and other gimmicks that allow me to experience gaming in an other way than my PC. I have my trusty sidearm in form of the 3DS, my powerhorse with the PC and why not a console that lets me experience AAA quality games from anywhere I fucking want - Wii U.
So your a fanboy. I see well then I hope you love eating that crap Nintendo has served to you for years now.So yeah I can see how their gimmicks keep you coming back.

This is like the third time I've seen a poll like this on this site.

But yeah, I'm going to get one. Not right now, because it's finals time and I have a lot on my plate right now, but definitely later, possibly during Christmas. I'm really looking forward to it, it looks really fun.

Oh I'm fairly certain he was to the point where I'd bet a considerable sum of money on it.

OT: I've already said I'm not, but the thing is I'm not really interested in any of the NextGen consoles.

I'm going to let someone else take the brunt of being an early adapter and maybe buy in when all the good games are being re-sold as classics for half the price two years in. :D

Seeing as Nintendo thinks I'm a feebleminded european who can't handle 18+ content outdide of late night hours, i think I'll steer clear this time.
