WoW is decaying and Rift is going to look like an expansion pack compared to TOR. I've played up to level 31 and it's just a one track world with nothing new added to combat beyond the option of which redundant skills to fill your action bars with. It's a decent enough game to tide me over until TOR, but it won't compare.BoredDragon said:From what I've seen of the Old Republic, it is going to get snuffed out by Rift, Guild Wars 2, and, the reigning champion, WoW

GW2 still needs to prove itself, but it does look cool. It's banking on dynamic events to be fun, whereas TOR is focusing on the class narrative. It's a different approach.
I agree with you, I had a great time with DA2. Like you said, only downsides were the repeated environments and some bugs. Definitely didn't deserve to be panned by gamers.WouldYouKindly said:Am I the only one who doesn't think that the story in DA2 was terrible? I like that it bucks the standard fantasy story of YOU are the ONLY ONE who can defeat the ULTIMATE EVIL!! Which seems awfully cliched to me. Honestly the only thing that annoys me is the copy-pasted environments and the bugs, but every game is released with bugs these days. Also, I've never been a fan of silent protagonists when all of your companions have so much personality. But enough of that.
Yeah, they can do it. The Star Wars fanboys will be able to make the MMO profitable, and if they bring back my Mako and a bit more customization of equipment(ammo upgrades, not powers), I'll be happy.
I think BioWare makes these trailers. Except for the cinematic ones by Blur. Combat is based on the standard MMO model, yes. I fully accept that. What excites me about the game is eight BioWare stories, 16 advanced classes to choose from, 17 worlds, starships, companion characters with story and crafting uses, full voice-over, and an IP that's not another bloody high-fantasy world. Seriously, swinging a lightsaber instead of an axe and shooting a blaster rifle instead of a bow and arrow is going to feel so good.BoredDragon said:Lucas Arts can make a trailer, but once you see the gameplay it looks the same as WoW. The only thing it seems to bring to the MMO table is being Star Wars
