Poll: Will Halo ODST ruin the franchise?

Sounds a lot better than Halo 3.
I hope in this one they focus more on the campaign instead of online multiplayer.

I think it's a good move. All of my Halo fanboyism aside, Bungie said that hte Master Chief's story arc was over. Frankly, I'm glad they're sticking to their word. I'm stoked to play a normal marine. Well, ODSTs are hardly normal, but whatever.

Agree. I think it will go good for some part, although there always will be people who dont want to accept they cant be Sierra 117 anymore.

Of course not! I for one am glad we will finally *NOT* play as the Master Chief, I like him but how is he any different to every other gun toating Hero in a powersuit? hopefully with ODST the protagonist will move away from the usual run in and gun though methods of the Chief, for some stealth aspects, because it would be stupid if a normal marine, ODST or not, to kill a Brute like the Chief.
(Bungie, about the ODST guy, I will give you ten pounds if you call him something Un-American like Bob or Fred, please let the ODST guy be called Fred, it would be halirious)

The fact that you bumped your own thread TWO MINUTES after posting already makes me disregard anything you have said, are saying, and will ever say.

To keep on topic, I see no reason why this will "ruin" the franchise. I am no fanboy and I am no hater, Halo is a fairly decent series that does its job just fine.

This ODST is not a sequel, it appears to be a gaiden game, a fleshing out of the side story, I don't see how that can ruin it. So, you don't play as Master Cheif? Boohoo, course you don't, he's running around doing his halo 2/3 stuff at the same time that this plot is going on.

Who knows, maybe this game will bring a whole new level to the Halo mythos that suddenly turns Halo's story from "competent hollywood shooter" to "a masterpiece of our time"

or maybe not, but it certainly isn't going to make the series any worse.

Same, I spent all of the 3 Halo games thinking how cool it would be to be able to play as a marine/ODST.
