I'm undecided. I mean, it's $10 for the next eight months. I spend more than that on coffee every single day. However, the "perks" don't apply to me. My connection spews vomit at "high quality" streaming content. And I'd only be interested in the premium forums if they were age restricted. What else is there being offered?

I will absolutely join it. Probably later in the week. There's a game I still want to get, so that's holding me away from getting in right now.
Amen!
I'll be paying for it, but I got a game coming out on April 20th, but after that it'll be time to pay up for the membership!

I'm not sure yet, I wouldn't use most of what I'd get, but on the other hand I'd like to contribute.

As soon as I'm 18 and I have a credit card, I'll try to make a deal with one of the mods.

You "forget" my little probation, and I'll drop a 20 your way every once in a while.
You can get a credit card right now my friend, as many of my friends can vouch for, I'm good with money. (Good at spending it and getting in to massive, ball crushing debt)

Anyway...

Get one of these babies. http://www.mycashplus.co.uk

One of the packages they have, you can add cash to your card when you have it, and it will charge you say £0.99p per transaction you make, so say you bought the subscription for here, it would pay that and charge you 99p. It's awesome.
Huh. If they have an American versions of that I could really go for it.

.... As long as The Escapist keeps THEIR end of the deal.

Nope.
I mean, I support the site and all, but I'm really not a big fan of useless features.

Hmmm as others have said it feels kinda wrong. Like part of my brain is screaming in... fear?
I certainly won't be going with it as the one feature that sounds interesting is a bit pointless anyway.

Even if I did have a credit card - wich I don't - I'd never pay for an internet site.

...To digital.

Let's check the features...

Final tally, only two features actually interest me. Spending £13 on two features isn't exactly cost effective, so it will have to be a resounding no from me.
M8 the exchange rate of $ -> £ is like £1 = $1.54 right now, to get it costs £6.40 not 13 pounds.......

I'm not going to be joining it simply because I don't have enough skrilla to spare. I whole heartedly endorse the fact that they want money for what they do, and I won't complain about it. If I was in the same position, I'd want to make some money too.

It's the final nail in what the Escapist once was.
I will not join, but I won't leave because of it.

C'mooon guys, don't make me feel like a jerk because I don't want to pay for a new membership thingy.

If they didn't use HD content, and make all of these animated shows, they wouldn't need to charge for payment. I really only come here for some of the vids, ZP and yakking a bit on the forums.

If they charge for that stuff, I'm not sticking around.

No, simply becasu the site already has so much content to look at that I can't look at it all in my time schedule, so why buy more?

I was going by the $20 standard fee, not the 50% discount. I have other things I want to buy, which will probably take me over the end date for the discount.

No. If there was a way for me to contribute to the escapist without paying money then I would definately do it. But seeing how I barely managed to scrape 1 month of XBL today, I think its best if I hold onto my cash.

I would if I had money, but I don't, so nope. Maybe someday when I have some money to give away, right now.
