I am Omega said:
Depends. If it stays in the spirit of Duke Nukem (over the top, humorous), sure, I'll wait for the price to drop.
But if ANY of the following terms are brought up between now and release:
- New, mature, sreious Duke Nukem
- Cover System
- Only two weapons
- Story (and they're taking it seriously)
- RPG Elements (I'm willing to be lenient on this, however)
- Realistic
- DLC (Personal bias here)

if ANY of these are mentioned... KILL IT WITH FIRE!
I like the way you think
I am hoping this game will be wacky fun and that it out sells all of the Realistic crap shooters by 1000% so PEOPLE WILL STOP MAKING CALL OF DUTY CLONES
I want it to have a story though
especially one involving Vladimir Lestrade lol

Unless there is a fourth-wall breaking scene where Duke breaks into 3dRealms's lead designer's office and beats him for taking so long to make the game, I won't.

There is no DNF.

As much as they say there is... sorry... unless it is on the shelf it will never be made and is not in the process of being made. You can only take a scam so far.

And not up for stupid comments about my thoughts... seriously when I see it at best buy THEN it exists.

Besides FPS like duke were big 15 years ago... doubt the public nor the game has evolved to anything amazing. Show me a product, show me some reviews and I MIGHT buy it.

But like diablo 3. I wanted these sequels ten plus years ago...now... they are just barely a 9volt trying to start the heart of a dead time in gaming.

At this point I would be VEEEEERY surprised if I actually got the game.

For some reason I just have huge "mediocre game" warning lights flashing on the "poor university student" highway.

Edit: Reasoning for the mediocre game warning lights. Simply put, shooters have evolved a ton since duke nukem, and the series is no longer relevant. Doom and duke nukem belong to an age of games that are perfectly mindless, there is literally no point to them other than "here are some dudes, shoot them". While that is plenty fun, it's fleeting, forgettable, and becomes old quickly.

I would bet a significant amount of cash that a year after duke nukem is released, nobody will be online, and everybody will have forgotten about it other than a few hardcore fans.

Meanwhile modern shooters like team fortress, counterstrike and battlefield will continue to pull in tens of thousands of users a day, and more "arty" single player shooters like half life and bioshock will still be on every bodies favorite games list, to be regularly replayed.

Simply put, the only thing remarkable about duke nukem will be it's incredible development time and it's total lack of all the improvements that modern shooters have created.

As of right now, yes. Mainly because Gearbox is on the case, and they're good in my book. As long as it's fun, I'll buy it.

Wow, the Escapist is refusing to even allow opinions that counter its hard-assed view on Piracy. Classy, folks.

OT: Nah, it's probably not going to be very good.

Of course not ! The game probably won't come out for another 5 years anyway and even if id does. Well. Why ? Give me one reason why I should buy this blatant attempt at taking money from super nostalgia people ?

Only if it is any good, what kind of question is that? What kind of idiot decides to buy a game they know little about? *Looks at pre-order of Civ5*

Probably not, from what I've seen it looks very dull. I'll be playing Halo Reach and New Vegas anyway.

Of course. He has balls of steel.

I still remember the scene with lunar boss, a newspaper and happy whistling.

Hot damn, it's split pretty much down the middle.

And no, I'm not gonna buy it. Gonna get scolded for saying it, but from what I've seen it looks reeeeally generic and we all know there ain't gonna be much to the story.

But, maybe if it gets reeeealllly good reviews, then I might pick it up.
