If they still make games that looks interesting too me, I'll still buy them. Going Next Gen doesn't mean abandoning the previous gen.

There will come a time when my 360 gets phased out by either the PS4 or XBOX One, but that won't happen for a while. I won't even consider buying one until some games I want to play come out.

Of course I will. Especially since PS4 and XB1 aren't backwards compatible, which means the prices on 360/PS3 games should come down quite a bit. Shit, now is the perfect time to catch up on last gen since I honestly don't give two shits about graphical prowess.

At this point, I've thrown my hands up and said "FUCK IT". The lack of backwards compatibility just rustled my Jimmies too much. I'll just get a Wii U and upgrade my pc.

For me, I really can't afford/ don't want a new console, I'm perfectly happy with my 360 for all my console needs. I plan to go PC when I can afford it so until then I'll grab whatever games I'm interested in that are released on both.

I haven't bought a 360 since I preordered by xbox one. Even if there was a cross generation game, now I would just buy it for the Xbone. Here it's generally only $10 difference between the two generations anyway.

I still buy PS2 games
Me too...because Amazon is awesome like that. I only just started getting back into the PS3...I have a lot to catch up on and some 360 games to re-buy because trophies. Also, Just Cause, Saint's Row, etc are great games anyway.

edit: This is the first generation of gaming where I'm having trouble seeing a difference between current and, next (well...new current) gen games. It was a lot more obvious going from Wii to Wii U, PS2 to PS3, etc. I'm just not seeing a huge jump between 3 and 4, 360 and, one.

Since neither the PS4 or Xbone play PS360 titles I wont be buying any PS4 Xbone products....EVER.
Haha, at least you have that luxury. Not until the PS2 and the Gameboy Advance did backwards compatibility even exist for the mainstream console/handheld owners. Well technically the Atari 7800 was BC with 2600, and I may have missed another one...

The SNES didn't play NES games, the N64 didn't play SNES games, Gamecube no N64... PS2 played PS1, but PS3 only played PS2 for one or two hardware iterations, and then that was gone.

Backwards compatibility is nice, but gamers shouldn't EXPECT it. That's just my opinion though.
All the more reason they should do it in order to sell more new titles they have to get people to buy the damn system. I wont be touching the damn thing I have plenty if not to many consoles I am playing. Hell if the computer didn't get half of them via emulation I'd have 20 consoles plugged in!

Well, I don't own a PS3 or Xbox 360, but I might buy one now that the new generation of consoles is out. It seems like a more sensable purchase than a current gen console right now. So there's a possibility I might start buying them finally. I have no idea if or when I'd stop though.

The PS4 has so little coming out for it right away that i'm not getting one for at least a year (if I get one), so i'll be continuing to get PS3 games if I can, unless it's a game I REALLY want on the PS4.

Don't have 3/360
I still get to play my old Wii games on my new console.

I don't see why they have taken away the backwards compability
Does it destroy the console somehow?
Does it take away from the power of new gen games?
I doubt it's that difficult to overcome a problem like this, unless it has with money to do of course i.e. people buying games cheaper for a new console (old console games) if that option is available
They have to build 2 systems into 1 console, both consoles have switched to PC x86 processors instead of Cell (PS3) and whatever the 360 had (some custom processor). This would have pushed the console's prices up to the PS3's launch price, something Sony was very much trying to avoid, and Microsoft wasn't keen on either. It's a pain but in the long term it future proofs the console's games as future consoles will be backwards compatible with these systems assuming they don't switch chipset again.

I haven't bought much in the console world recently, the last thing I got was The Last of Us then Soul Calibur 4 because it was 5 freakin' bucks and I missed playing the game with friends.

Been sticking with PC since the deals especially as of late have been freaking insane
Batman Arkham Asylum GoTY & City GoTY, Scribblenauts, MK Kollection, FEAR 1-3 for 5 bucks? Uh, yes please!

If anything the Handheld world has been far more interesting if we're talking 'consoles' I got a 3DS and a few titles, Vita has been just as entertaining, just for different reasons, I mean besides amusing Vita titles it's basically a portable PSOne machine letting me try game I never got to, like Grandia ...yes I never played it, you can pick your jaw off the floor and start mocking me any time you want D: ....Because I still have to try Symphony of the Night, I KNOW STOP LAUGHING AT POOR SNOT! D:

Only when I have all the ones I want.

Which to be honest is probably going to be MGS Peace Walker on 360 and that's it. Gotta end sometime.

I might still get 360 games depending on if my friends are playing them or not.
I don't touch my PS3 and I doubt I ever will again.

I think most of my games will now be brought on Xbox One and PC.

I resent the implication that the only reason I've neglected the "next generation" is money. I haven't bought either of the "next gen" consoles because there just aren't any games, or technological developments, to justify such a purchase. I also haven't bought a new bookshelf lately, but that isn't because bookshelves are expensive, it's because my current bookshelf is currently working just fine.

Besides, why would I buy one of those when I can just get a steam-box a few months(?) from now?

Well Persona 5 and Dark Souls 2 and even both parts of MGSV are coming out for the ps3.
I also have a deep feeling in my gut that they'll continue to produce products for ps3 until the ps4 has an actual library. Pre-rendered trailers are really doing nothing for me, and the games coming out for it with actual gameplay aren't either.
Plus I still have a laundry list of PS3 games I never got a chance to play, along with an eventual transition to the all powerful PC Mustard Rice, and a WiiU with a game library that is looking fancy and likes me by showing of its sexy backwards compatibility. And then theres the 3DS with JRPGS I really really want... including the upcoming Persona Q...

In other words f*** next gen consoles I'm not impressed by the next gen. They'll have to step it up, until then cya in 3 years "next gen".
