Ok. Today is the day. Many have had this thing on pre-order. You may have queued up for it even. Perhaps, you are installing it right now and not looking at the site as a result. Apparently, it will sell more than Harry Potter. What I would like to know is what you think of it. I'm adding a poll, but feel free to describe your favourite feature, report a bug, or design snafu, or complain about something you think was missed out.

By the way, there is no 'Other' option in the poll as you can't vote if you only use OS X or Linux. I'm asking new, Windows 7 users only, and not those who have played with the Beta.

Well as I'm a student I'm getting it for £30, but not touching it till the guys who did Vlite and Xlite work their magic for Windows 7.

From what i've read/seen some ideas a good...shame they had to go and be gimmicky and add a touch screen feature. I call it gimmicky because there are very little practical uses for it.

There should be an Other or at least a "I like Vista" option.

Done and done.

I've been using Windows 7 since version 7100 became available. And I'm getting the 64-bit version soon.

I'm not "Tech" Savvy enough to really know how bad it is. It seems pretty normal to me.

No problems, except for some reason it and Steam don't get along.

(I closed my computer, it told me Steam was still running, I shut it down anyway, and it royally screwed my computer)

Same here... I've liked it much better than Vista, though I seem to have a problem I can't figure out how to fix. I keep needing admin permission to alter anything in inetpub, yet I am logged on as administrator. Anyone know how to get around this?

It's been obselete since windows '98 was released. Yes, '98 was the better system dammit, XP cannot do anything 98 can't do better..

Moving on from "it's pointless and therefore redundant" to it has no 64 bit support, and performs poorly with multi-core processors. XP has been completely redundant since vista RC2 was released, the only people stick with it is because it's familiar.

OT: Not had a chance to check out 7 yet, my vista version has been modded to my liking and I can't be bothered toying with a new OS (at least not until after exams). I'm yet to hear a bad thing about it, though.

Microsoft has a software alliance with my university so I got it 8 ago for $0.00 dollars (free!). Defiantly leaps and bounds beyond Vista and I haven't encountered a single bug or crash in that time. I'm also running the x64 version for those who want to, it's pretty great.

My vista boot (also free) was a disaster. I got it when vista came out and it can't do anything. Copy files? Crashes. Open windows too fast? Crashes. I couldn't even update the fucking system without it crashing to make it not crash. It was as good as useless so I wiped it and put a linux boot on that drive.

Chrome is hilariously bad. Why did google need a new PROCESS for each tab? Not even a new thread, a new glomping process. Honestly?

I hated it because my precious favorites bar was taken away. I missed my little star that said "Favorites" beside it. No! I don't want to bookmark it, I want to favor it!
Hehe.

But yeah, I kind of feel that way about windows 7, something feels like it's missing.

Ok. It seems pretty obvious, but those who like Vista should vote:

Meh.

I love Windows 7.
I got it for free through a University program, and it's great.
Boots faster, it's got some cool little features, and I haven't had it hang up on me yet.
*karate chops wood*
Installing it was really easy, too.
But a word of warning: if you upgrade from Vista, you will probably need to look up an updated video card driver if you want to use it.
