I adore white wine. I mean, really love the stuff. It doesn't have to be expensive, top of the range or from M&S!

Red wine I can't stand though. Tastes like antifreeze. Not that I know what that tastes like...

White... Hm, i don't know what it is called in english but the one with the latest grapes, the sweet one. Tastes awesome.

But if you want to drink enough to get "the buzz" it is red wine you want.
The really sweet, bubbly one? If so I think you mean Asti.

I don't really like red wine at all, and the right champagne beats any wine in my taste when it's not combined with foods.

Well.. what i mean is "Spätlese"... roughly translated "late harvest". No idea how the english call it... and i am too lazy to look it up *g*.

Asti seems to be a specific brand, not a type?

Is currently my standard Friday night...hey, it's cheap :)
Seriously? I got drunk off a whole bottle of red once. It's horrible...
If I'm honest, I've not really noticed the difference between that, and being drunk off any other alcohol.

Purple vomit, and the burning sensation in your throat.

Depends on the quality and what I'm in the mood for, actually :3 I can't just pick between red and white like that!

Rose stands better alone for me - red's generally too strong without a meal, and I'm not a fan of whites generally.

Red wine. Same reason as I drink stout on its own, it has a rich enough taste not to NEED hefty backup.

I do lurrrve Riesling though. God that stuff is good. And hella cheap!

Interesting OT link: http://scienceblogs.com/cortex/2007/11/the_subjectivity_of_wine.php

For everyone who's too damn lazy to click it - it's a hilarious study where wine 'experts' were unable to tell the difference between red and white wines!
Don't take it too seriously, though, wines still do blatantly taste different. It's just those guys were taken in by the messages around them.

Asti Spumanti is basically champagne but made in Italy. I think. Like Cava is Champagne from Spain. That's my understanding of it. I hate sweeter astis, and champagnes, and cavas. Very rare that I find one I like.

*risks double post in order to reply properly to post*...

EDIT: Nooooo...sorry.

I like red wines if I'm just sat about watching tv or whatever or with my parents (as they mainly drink reds).
Although I do like a rose too, I like the refreshing taste and lightness of them. Blossom Hill zinfandel and grenache are probably the two I drink most.

I find my self to enjoy something more sweet, so... white. Though red still catches my interests.

I used to drink red for preference, but to be frank these days I drink anything short of toilet cleaner... Actually that makes me sound like a bit of an alcoholic :-/ fact is i'm just not really fussy any more, if it has alcohol, and its in my flat, it will be drunk inside a week or two.... except that one bottle of kahlua, in the cupboard. I'll be desperate the day I finish that off I can tell you.
