Sake is just japanese for alcohol. What you mean is Nihonshu.

And if Rice wine counts, what about various fruit wines, dandelion wine, palm wine, carrot wine, or potato wine ?

On a whole, I prefer red wine over white. I drink it fairly regularly with family and have for awhile, so it's grown on me.

I can't drink wine...Well I can...But it's like crazy juice and I generally can't remember what I did after drinking it. So I stick to my spirits and ciders.

I drink and have been able to enjoy almost everything in this wide world, but I still can't force myself to enjoy sake. I try and I try, but it all just tastes terrible to me. Do you have any favorites you could point me to, because as much as I want to enjoy it I just can't seem to find one I can tolerate much less enjoy.

And as far as wine goes... If I'm going to get a giant $5 bottle of wine to drink straight from the bottle with a friend or two as a precursor to a long night I go with white wine or sangria. It goes down smooth, you can get 32 ounces for $5, and it's not too terrible. If I want to actually drink a wine I'll enjoy I usually just go with a relatively cheap Merlot, Cab, or a blended red wine. All New World wines though, not a huge fan of old world wine unless it's from Spain and that's usually either sherry with an appetizer, port as a dessert with a smoke, or sangria on one of those... wilder nights.

I'll be honest:
I don't like wine. Never have, never will, and don't say I haven't tasted the right wines, I've tasted red, white and rose, in Bordeaux(one of the world's more famous wine districts), no less. Although I prefer white, I suppose, even though I thought the wines were better when they were less "wine" and more "grape juice".

It's odd. I have a slight preferance towards white wines yet all I currently have at home are reds.

I like all, but there is this one red wine in Spain which I can't get enough of.

I would rather drink white, though I love any wine. I hate beer so it's all of "non-hard" alcohol I drink. Favorites include Pinot Grigiot, Souave, and Riesling.

I prefer white, though I enjoy all wine. I hate beer so it's the only "non-hard" alcohol I drink. Favorites include Pinot Grigio, Souave, and Riesling.

EDIT: carp, sorry for the double post...

Red wine is awesome. It's the only alcoholic drink I've ever been able to have enough of to actually get me drunk. That fact alone makes it my favorite potent potable.
Trebek, go!
