Nah, wow is not dying, not by a long run.
So no, I don´t think blizzard will ever start mixing up their franchises like that, it does not make sense.

However I do like the idea of a "mmorts", even if I am uncertain on the details.
Would have to be instanced a lot, I suppose... But why not?

Also:
Please, please, pretty please:
Stop using multiple exclamation marks. In normal, written english there is hardly any call for even one of those, and never for more than one.
It just looks like you are shouting, or have your keyboard stuck.

You have to remember that even Ultima Online is still "alive" and it was never THAT succesfull like WOW.
It wont end before 2020.

I wouldn't say WoW is dying, but I think the amount of content they can keep injecting into the game is running thin.

And World of Starcraft wouldn't work well at all.

Blizzard knows that WoW is comeing to the end of its life span they are throwing in expansions to increase time but eventually no one will play it. But what if Blizzard just jumps onto a MMORPG of Starcraft i know its a bit to take a handle of but think about.Blizzard makes tons of money with WoW when WoW finishes and is no longer profitable they might just clone WoW into another of there games World of Diablo, World of Starcraft. but this is a long way away of course its just i wouldn't be surprised if it happened.

So anyway do you think they will make more MMORPG's about there own games or do you disagree?

i discussed this in Borean tundra and someone also suggested that ' What if Starcraft and Warcraft got turned into the same game' i doubt it but still you never know.
MMO's are expensive and they are already working on one that is completely original (which discludes starcraft)

So if we say that World of Warcraft needs 4 year to die out and the other game also needs about 10 years of gametime.

I wont expect a starcraft to come out before 2028 but it is possible.

Well, there is a Tauren Marine in SC2, and Grunty the Space MArine the murloc in Wow...
But I don't think it'd be a good idea at all.
The Tauren marine was started as an April Fools joke, and probably shouldn't be considered canon.

As for a StarCraft MMO, I don't think that would be a good idea. I love StarCraft, but it is (at least with the sequels coming out) an evolving storyline. WarCraft hasn't really advanced since WoW came out. Yes, there were events and stuff like WotLK and now Cataclysm, but the universe as a whole stayed still.

Does it make sense to happen? Not really. Can Blizzard do it if they wanted to? Yes, they own all rights, and could make it work, somehow. Will it happen? Oh, yes. Eventually. Any time soon? No. I would expect see a SC3 before a WoSC, but I have confidence in the basic human tendency of mercilessly combining previous good ideas until something works, or they run out of money. Which won't happen, ever.

Possible? Sure. Likely? No.

Blizzard has already said that their new MMO in the works is a brand new IP. I really hope that they make it a Sci-Fi one though.

I would swear that someone thinking there should be a World of Starcraft is a strange phase for people who only just played WoW. I can easily name at least three of my friends who said that immediately upon playing the game.

I don't imagine a game would be such a stretch. The Zerg race could easily be a group of Infested Terrans who managed to somehow break free of the hivemind. Remember people said the same thing about the Undead Scourge (The Forsaken) being playable in WoW. Perhaps a Xel'Naga race could be a bunch of outcasts who've long lost their world/life shaping powers, but still retain the knowledge and technology. Still I could picture them as being the main story focus, and source of conflict rather than a playable race.

My issue is that people seem to want World of Starcraft to be nothing more than WoW in Space. I though we already had the Draenei for that.

I dont think they would foolishly waste the money and effort on it...

Starcraft II Wings of Liberty - JUST CAME OUT -

And an xpac is coming

They have a new MMO (WoW2?) and it either will be at Blizzcon '10 or in the coming years

Why does no one say Diablo MMO? Why is it always Starcraft?

warriors are OP as fuck in pvp dunno where you've been the last 6 months, bladestorm can solo healers.

I don't think starcraft mmo will happen because i don't think the demand to play a female zerg mutalisk is as high as say.. a night elf hunter

11 million active subscribers disagree with your assesment of WoW coming to and end. WoW could lose 3/4 of its player base and still be the largest mmo out there.

Starcraft 2 says Hi. $60 for a carbon copy of a 12 year old game you can't play because of draconian DRM? I say that reputation is well and truly shot.

In what way is SC2's DRM draconian?
Seems to me like you're just repeating stuff you've heard on the net to come across as sounding cool by sticking to the perceived man.

I dont think there is enough lore and story behind starcraft/diablo to fill out a game as much as warcraft has.

Having to log in once a month is seriously harsh man. I mean, that just plain old evil!

OT:

They are working on a new MMO with a completely new IP. I kinda hope they use it to try really new or different things. Actually i kinda hope its a MMORTS kinda game that doesn't suck. But that's a fabled dream.

WoW isn't dying. When its subscribers drop to around 300,000 we will talk. But as someone has already said they could lose 2/3rds of there player base and STILL make money hand over fist. Bare in mind that all other MMO's seem to keep trying to bring best of the best graphics when Blizzard smiles politely with a graphics range that lets five year old computers play comfortably, thus a large portion of there player base are not going anywhere when the other options require dropping hundreds of dollars on there rigs to play them.

Starcraft as an MMO would only work if it was a shooter based game. Otherwise it would be slow and clunky and just be a WoW reskin. While that might sound good once again Blizzard has already announced there new MMO is an entirely new IP. Which is about three thousand times more exciting.

Bit harsh to say that WoW is coming to its end. MMOs don't die if enough people keep their subscriptions, and it'll be safe to say WoW will still be going for at least another decade. It's still the most popular PC game according to Xfire. There is no rush.

I'll be interested to see how anyone attempts to turn an RTS into an MMO, and End of Nations may prove to be that template.
Pretty sure they already turned an RTS into an MMO.

Warcraft...
World of Warcraft...

Ring any bells?

Making a Starcraft MMORPG would only have Blizzard shooting themselves in the foot. They already dominate that market, so there is no reason to compete against their own game.

It is possible, would piss off a metric shit ton of Starcraft fans, but Blizzard could do it. Also, Blizzard, we know you spend most of your time on WoW, but please, please work a bit more on Diablo 3.
