This is a very poor attempt at a challenging moral delema. Why the fuck would I die to save someone I've never met, never heard about, and has done nothing important as far as I know? The answer: I wouldn't.

No, never.
But I would be willing to take risks to try and save them,

There are only 3 people I would die for, and 2 of them are my kids.
The last one is their mother.

Why would I give my life for a complete stranger? He/she may be a pedophile.
I would only give my life for my closest friends and family.

I wouldn't give my life even for a 100 strangers. As far as I know I'll cease to exist the moment I die. No reward, no warm feeling of doing the wright thing, no nothing. Why should I give up on every person I love, on everything in my life, on my goals and dreams?

The only exception to that would be if I had only a weak left to live (due to some terminal disease) and the man in question was a freaking saint with cures for cancer and AIDS in his head.

I value my own life far more than the average random stranger, both instinctively and on principal.

So is the other person. I guess I merely assumed that you would prize your life over that of an 'equals', and only give your life for a 'better'.
TO be completely honest, I didn't and wouldn't even take that into account. I mean, honestly, who am I to judge?
Well to be completely honest I'd say this is one of those rare situations where you deserve to judge, seeing as your lifes on the line.
You do have a point there...Trying to take something like that into account in only 30 seconds really mucks up the equation for me, though...

If this stranger was more likely to CURE CANCER or something of that impossibility. Then of course. Unless he was wearing burberry.

Absolutely not. People die all of the time and I'm not so wrapped up in the image of me as a good person to fool myself into thinking that I would sacrifice myself for someone I don't know.

No. People might say that my life is not more important than their's but by that logic their's isn't worth more than mine so it's like swapping a dollar for another dollar except you don't know if the other dollar is a fake.

Fair enough, and I just got the in-joke of your avatar.
Surprisingly, Cpt_Oblivious hasn't said a thing about it. Maybe he's just living up to his name...

...but I digress.

No. It doesn't matter who the person is, if it's a complete stranger. I don't know what sort of person it is. That would be like dying for nothing.
